Just one small question Kia if I get a TOEFL or TESOL certificate it will be enough for Cambly to hire me in the future or the other platforms where you Kia is working with......?

Hi Oscar! Most ESL companies require a TESOL or TEFL so it could increase your chances however, you’d still need to meet the other hiring requirements of the company ☺️

Hi! There is a small button that you have to click when you’re filing out your profile. It says “I want to apply to Cambly Kids too”. You must click this in order to see the other options 😉

I want to branch out from the Chinese market because I am already with vipkid. I want the 4am - 5am EST and 9am -10am EST hours. Is it possible at Cambly? Do you get kids from outside of China?

Yes it is possible! I’ve never had a student from China on Cambly personally. My students are mostly from the US, Saudi Arabia, Spain and Turkey.

Good afternoon Kia I changed the introduction video on the new Gmail hopefully I will get a much sooner reply from Cambly. On that Gmail about 18 days ago I received this message "Thank you for signing up to tutor on Cambly, we are delighted to have you! Your account is now under review; you will receive an email upon account activation. At that point, you may return to this page and start teaching right away!" so hopefully Cambly will see the new introduction video and will reply to me sooner.

Kia: If I have no experience in ESL teaching, how do I learn? I'm interested in following your advice, but I don't have any experience teaching ESL. I completed a TOEFEL certificate but it was all abstract, no practical advice. Many thanks for your help!

Hi Miriam! The way you learn is through experience. Depending on where you get hired, the company may also provide extra training and workshops. However, you will learn by teaching class after class until you are comfortable. Cambly is a good place to start so you can get some experience. I just finished sending the whole information 3 videos. One for adults and two for kids on the second video for kids I added a very good introduction, background, rainbow, colors and shapes it only said "summit so I summited the video" I also added again my whole information what shocked me is that I didn't receive an e-mail back letting me know that my information was sent ok and to be honest I spend a lot of money with children supplies to add into the demo class with Cambly this was seven hours ago. I added this information to the old Gmail.

If the kids classes are 30 mins long, how do you make it to the next class without a 5 min break in between?

Hi!! I always leave a gap between classes. The way Cambly’s schedule is set up, it only allows you to put 15 min between classes. I wish the system allowed a 5 minute break, but it doesn’t.
