Very good video, man! I had no idea how that city looks like when you were driven by the motortaxi. It seeems to me that all main cities from SE Asia are pretty much alike, let's say Thailand or Vietnam, maybe it's because I love the beauty of those places. By the way, I loved that "Chatting with the hostess lady" part, you should include this whenever is available. Keep on doing this good stuff!!!

@ronbill99596 жыл бұрын
Been there this month for a week, thought the girls were overpriced and the place had unsafe feel to it. The beer might have been cheap but everything else was the same price as Thailand, at least I felt much safer in Bangkok then Phnom Phen.
@taylana86396 жыл бұрын
ron bill you are comparing a democratic and capitalist country like Thailand with a country that has just emerged from dictatorship and wild like Cambodia. the comparison is wrong. I am Belgian and the Angor draft beer is delicious. Every night I was running freelance for 35 - 40 dollars - 1 hour, and I think it's very correct. We were drunk at 3am in the streets of the capital, nobody ever hurt us. so I totally disagree with you. but I respect your opinion.
@gubroojatt6 жыл бұрын
Taylan Firstly, Thailand is not very democratic, there is a long history of military coup d'état in Thailand including the current government but its a fair observation that Cambodia is just starting to open up to the world. Secondly, $40 for 1 hour ??? You been paying too much !!!!! Lastly dont give people your stupid advice to first time travellers that its safe to roam the streets at 3 am in Cambodia. Its like telling someone that the odds of fatality on a motorbike and plane are the same because you ride a bike and you are still alive.
@taylana86396 жыл бұрын
I really thought thailand was a democratic country, you just taught me something. No, I do not push anyone out at night, I just explain that in our case (2 friends) we never had a problem.

Excellent vlog mate. One of the best yet. Love PP, I'm off there for Easter and Khmer New Year so hoping not to get quite as drenched as in Bangkok last year! A little tip, if you need an ATM then use Maybank (by St 144 and Norodom) as they don't charge withdrawal fees for UK Visa cards. I think ANZ charge $5, which is taking the piss! Anyway many thanks and look forward to the next installment :)

Why do you find it necessary to tell a local that you've just lost $200 dollars gambling and shrug it off with a laugh like it's nothing but small change. That amount is well over a months wages to these bar girls. It's stupid unnecessary behaviour like that, that gives rise to the two tier price system. Do you really think these bar girls are impressed by that kind of bragging. Either they'll be telling you anything they think you want to hear to get the most out of you, or setting you up for one of the muggings you frequently mention. For the amount of travelling you do, I don't think you're very street wise. On the other hand your vids are Ok from a memory lane point of view so I've hit the like button.

@Bangkok1126 жыл бұрын
USD is dispensed from the ATMs, not Riel as it's an unstable currency. I have some footage from using an ANZ ATM at the airport that might make it into a vid. Thanks for watching Brandon.

Bangkok 112 thanks mate. Will be there in May. Keep up the good work mate.
@ishtnayseguin79566 жыл бұрын
Note that $20's and even $100 bills come out of ATMs in Cambodia. I have never seen $100's come out of atm machines in the U.S. other than at casinos so if you withdrawal a few hundred in Cambodia, you might just have 100's in your hand. I think of the Riel currency as coin change but in the paper form. That is often how you receive your change after a transaction.
@wrightst86 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I take out $90 at a time as I've been dispensed $100 bills, which is a pain if the bank is closed at the time!

I agree on the beggars when I´m eating, they can ask once, but should accept the response. Instead, it´s as if they have a captive audience and can keep annoying you for several minutes. Pisses me off, they give you that Ï like food¨look, who the fuck dosen´t like food and eat it? If somebody was starving, ok, but they don´t give a fuck about your life or situation, just give them money. Give me money, give me money.....fuck off.

I chase flushes so I can see why you went for it with open ended straight draw, but $60 re-raise on your initial bet should have been a warning signal. Red Fox do a few poker nights. It's not just a stoner bar. You meet some interesting characters there.
@ziggy2shus6246 жыл бұрын
Only a 32% chance of hitting an open ended straight, 8 outs on turn and river--for those who don't play poker. (4 out cards each end) x 2= 8 x 2 chances(turn and river) = 16 x 2(only 52 cards in deck) = 32%

Where is the best place for western food in Phnom Penh? I know people are going to say "you're in Cambodia, you should be eating Khmer food", but if you've been away for a while, sometimes you just need a some familiar food for a change, especially if you've been on the beers all night and feeling a bit rough. I went to a place on Street 172 and was served literally the WORST full English breakfast I have ever had in my life. Shriveled bacon that was 99% fat, no proper sausage, just an undercooked, pink chipolata, an overcooked fried egg with a brown yolk, a teaspoon of baked beans and a homemade hash brown that was falling apart.
