Before they spun two provinces out of BattamBang (meaning: Batt = Lost; Dambang = big stick), Battambang was the biggest province in the country.

Battambang is my second home as my wife comes from there. So much to see and do there, go to phare circus, bamboo train, bat caves , take a trip out of town to see the local villages. Amazing great friendly people. You should go in April for new year or November for water festival

For land size, Bat-tambang is the largest province and also top rice producer including fruit farm orchards in Cambodia. This province is still a sleepy town comparing to SR or PP. Top three todo things are Killing Caves on top of Phnom Sampov, Bat caves, and Bamboo Train rides. Peace ✌️

We didn't try any there, but we'll take your word for it. It does seem that people are moving around a bit in Cambodia due to that.

If you are still in Bat-tambang, you can do collaboration with Shanaelael as she has been living there for awhile now and she can also speak Khmer fluently!

Hey, unfortunately this was a little over a week ago so we're not there anymore. But great suggestion! Would love to learn some more Khmer!

4:36 to 5:26 You will see these vehicles all over Isaan - They are called "Lot Thai" - the literal translation is "motorised Thai" because they carry things Thai people used to carry by hand but now they have these "homemade" machines etc. Love the street art.

Ah sweet! Love the explanation! Street art was pretty wicked, and looks like new stuff goes up each year!

The name Battambang, Cambodia is related to a well-known Cambodian folk story and means "disappearing stick".

Yes indeed! We did learn that from our Tuk tuk driver later on in the trip!

Duran is very difficult to grow, and you have to constantly pull the weeds and kill the bugs on the tree. it is not easy like avocado tree, and that is why is so expensive. Duran is considered a luxury food. The price will change and it depends on the season. 2nd I think Battambang is the second largest city after Phnom Penh.

It is indeed! We found that out when we visited a Durian Farm on Borneo. Avocado's aren't the easiest either! You could be right, though I'm not too sure based on info and out of date census's. Either way, it's one of the Biggest in Cambodia and it surprised us as we'd never heard of it before getting to Cambodia.

By the time you guys see my comment, you may have already left Battambang, but still, I would like to recommend you try Mi Kola (មីកូឡា) and Bay Soaheu (បាយសោហឺ), if you get a chance to maybe? They are famous breakfast for the locals and it tastes great! Also, Miss Wong bar would be a great place to end your evening. Enjoy the rest of your trip and be safe!

We are not in Battambang anymore but there is always the strong chance we will be back so we will keep these suggestions for next time. Thank you for taking the time to recommend these foods, we appreciate it 🙏😊
