Honestly hun, take it from a third year.. you will not fall behind just because you're having a bad patch. I'm a third year psychology student and literally felt like this a few week ago. Long story short, my dissertation supervisor wasn't helping me which caused me to fall behind. And due to the stress of that (and trying to solve the issue) I just couldn't focus on any of my modules and before I knew it I was behind on everything. But trust me you won't fall behind. You go to one of the most prestigious universities and even though it is obviously a place that gives its students a lot of work with very short deadlines, they won't let you purposefully fall behind 😊 like I say, I was exactly the same not long ago and now everything is fine again 👍🏻 just try not to stress too much hun 😊 you'll get through it, you're clearly a very smart girl xxx

Wow, when you said your supervisor e-mailed you at 11 o'clock in the evening and you had to have the answers ready by next morning... That would be unacceptable for me, because I can say that even if I was at uni right now, I wouldn't be up at 11 so I would see the e-mail at like 7 in the morning. Crazy. But I kind of know the feeling. It's always very frustrating when my time table changes whilst I'm at school or at night. So it's fun when I get my alarm ready for my 7 o'clock lesson and then in the morning I see that it's been cancelled. Or when I'm having a lesson and during break I look at our school app and see that they've changed our next lesson or whatever. Seriously, why can't schools get a grip and stop doing this? Also, you're such a hard-working person Paige, it's amazing! ♥

Maybe I didn't pay close enough attention but how did it go with the work you got at 11pm? 🙈 I'm so glad we get to see so much of your life at Cambridge. I applied and didn't get in, and I used to be a bit bitter about it. Now I realise that the way everything is structured with the short terms and insane deadlines that it probably wouldn't be the best fit for me after all as I need a bit more time to process information. I'm living the Cambridge life vicariously through your vlogs though!

I wish I had a friend like you when I was at uni. Someone productive and studious yet with a balanced social life as well. And you seem like a super kind and friendly person as well ;) The friends I made at uni were always moaning and hating on everything, not passionate about the lectures and wanted to go out totally drunk every night. It made me feel very uninspired and unmotivated to study so after two years I dropped out and went to an art school. That was a really great decision but I can't help sometimes feeling a bit like a failure and I would've done better with different friends. Good luck with everything, you're doing amazing but take some time off from time to time, you so deserve it!

I love the fact that you are so natural ! By the way, I have the same problem as you... I can hear everytime my neighbours when they are using the bathroom. And I'm not talking only about those who have the room next to mine, but also those who have have the room under mine. Moreover, sometimes I can hear them talking. So I guess that's just how dorms are like, you can never feel quite alone 😂. Do you write on your flash cards everything you must know or just the parts that you find hard to remember ?

When I was doing my GCSEs and A levels I used to write most of the course content out in great detail on flashcards, but at uni I just tend to make flashcards of the key things I need to remember since there seems to be a never-ending amount of knowledge I need to learn for my university exams 😂

😱 if my supervisor emailed questions to me that late I wouldn't see the email until 8am the next day! And then it would be too late because of the heavy timetable I have. I can't imagine how anyone would think less than 24 hours notice is acceptable, sometimes I think (at least some of) Cambridge is on another planet entirely... Also, how do you manage your workload? I'm finding it so difficult to get everything done on time + go to lectures/practicals etc + do my washing/food shop, nevermind actually have fun... Can you do a sample week timetable (without subjects written so no one can track you down, but maybe just colours ) and how you find time to get the work done? Please and thank you!

With the problem you are having with Microsoft Office not working on your laptop could you not do the work on Google Drive then transfer (copy/paste) on to the word or excel when you are finished and need to hand in on the due dates. That's what I did when I did not have Microsoft Office on my laptop. Thank you for showing what the real student life is like as I know it can be very stressful - I have completed my HND Equine Studies course at Bangor Uni a few years ago and only just about handed in all my work on time and some just past the due dates. Looking forward to your next update.

My mum is an actuary and I did a week of work experience at a small actuarial firm. The only notable disadvantage is that you do spend a large portion of your day on a computer and work primarily on your own (although within larger firms there is much more opportunity for collaborative work).

those orange squishy ear plugs might help you (just make sure you know the correct way of putting them on). They cancel out most of the noises, yet you can still hear the sounds of alarms! They have helped me go through many noisy nights (upstair neighbors' stompy kids, big parties in the other rooms of the same hostel, etc)
