I’d like to thank CMC, Sister Amina and Brother Dawud for a very insightful session. I was deeply humbled by the conversation. It takes courage to be vulnerable in front of an audience. Brother Dawud’s poem was profound and heartful and I feel resonated with creative writers. What is expressed comes from deep within and to be shared with those so they may understand and benefit from it in some way. It is free flowing and unchained… ' Two of my favourite lines are ' In solitude, never alone.' and deeply in love, knee high in snow. JazakAllahu khair. I am looking forward to the next session…

Ah man I’ve been listening to Brother Dawud for almost 20 years. I wrote to him a long time ago but I didn’t receive a reply until 3 years later because he wasn’t at that address. Allah bless him he still replied so sincerely to my letter! I remember as a teenager he was doing a sound check before a concert. Honestly, he was the only artist who asked the sound guy his name then thanked him by name for his help. Small examples but shows so much character subhanAllah. I truly wish there were more people like him in the world! Thank you for illuminating us with your sincerity and kindness 🙏🏼.

I'm actually smiling so hard right now. I had no idea how much I needed to hear such beautiful words of wisdom from such a precious person from my childhood. May Allah bless Dawud Warnsby for his efforts in bringing joy, happiness and beauty to the world and to CMC for allowing these sessions to happen. My Ramadan this year has been the most beneficial and the best times of my life learning and listening to such inspirational people (p.s I actually never write such long posts everr but hearing Dawud talk about pouring ones heart and mind made me do so. I normally keep all my thought inside my head and almost never profess them for various reasons) Allah bless CMC once again and I hope everyone is having a wonderful Ramadhan :)

Salaam, music... its a beautiful dimension about spirituality! Sir I would love you to come to my community. We are a small linguistic minority, exclusively muslim in southern India, and document the so many folk songs that we sing. Our dialect doesn’t have a script. We also recite Nasheeds in religious gatherings we call maulood. It’s exclusively ours. Manglore. Karnataka India

Listened throughout my youth and now my children love to hear his profoundly meaningful yet beautifully simple songs and melodies. I get something from them every time, they bring tears of sadness and delight. Thank you brother Dawud and sister Amina for facilitating this wonderfull conversation. What a joy it would be to sit and sip tea around a kitchen table with this man. May Allah bless and increase him and all those who love to be reminded of Truth.

Alhamdulillah.. To my small knowledge poetry is acceptable as long as its benefits our ummah, I remember 15 years ago I used to listen to dawud warsby ali,s "what did I do today" in my sister cassette along with usuf islam kaseedas, as steve jobs told we can only connect the dot backwards
