Wish born to sea really followed in STS's footsteps. He moved almost like his half brother at times.

I agree the Arc is critical but so is the Leger. That's why he's got to run in both. It's much harder to win our triple crown than yours because your derby, preakness and belmont are all over roughly the same distance. With our triple crown you have to win between one mile and a mile and three quarters. Only an exceptional horse can do this like Nijinsky in 1970. We need it done again. We want a legend.

CAMELOT,aún está algo tierno. No procede compararlo con FRANKEL. El Saint Leger debe ser suyo.¡Una gloria que dura ya mas de treinta años! El Arco del Triunfo puede esperar para el año siguiente.

Well I agree it's asking a lot for Camelot to run in the St. Leger and the Arc. However I think it's time to make history so run him in both. If he's beaten in one or the other it won't affect his stud value much. However I don't expect him to lose the Leger, there's nothing much to beat. I anticipate he'll just cruise into the lead in the last furlong like Nijinsky did and then he's a legend. Obviously the Arc is a tougher prospect but certainly well within his compass.

I reckon he could do both, they're a month apart.

This season we shall see how good this horse is. By that I mean after he has his two Irish race preps and competes in better races

Pretty sure I read that Aiden O'Brian said 10 furlongs is Camelot's distance.

Surely Balanchine stands alone. A filly winning the Irish derby? The most rarified of all air.

I think this race on soft ground may have bottomed Camelot out, he never seemed to race with the same zest as the guineas or Epsom derby again, I hope the same thing doesn't happen to Australia.

If Coolmore thought Camelot could win the Arc he'd be going there.I know he'd get weight but obviously they feel he's not up to winning it.19 of the last 27 winners of the Arc have been 3yr olds & 2 of the last 3 have been UK Derby winners! Coolmore always look at Stud value but they are not immune from picking easier races for their horses,Camelot is as short as 2/5 for the Leger he's got a provisional price of 11/4 for the Arc.I think its fair to say this crop of 3yr olds are average at best.

Sea the stars never run in the Irish derby because of the ground. Camelot needs to win the king George, St Leger and arc to be an all time great. I'd like to see him take on frankel at york, but I can't see that happening
@mikerainham12 жыл бұрын
Nashwan and sea the stars should and could have won the triple crown. Our Triple crown starts in may over a mile and finishes in September over 1 mile 6 furlongs. in America the 3 race take place in quick succession and no further than 12 furlongs. But both triple crowns take some winning!

Why has this been spammed, it's a perfectly valid comment and is well argued.

really bad ground joseph said camelot was like a car spinning it's rear tires in this ground so all the more impressive

Surprising that Sea the Stars didn't win the Irish derby though of course he went for the Eclipse instead. Lets have Frankel and Camelot in the Eclipse and see what happens. Then Camelot can have a bash at the King George. These animals aren't around for long unlike jumpers so they need to be raced intensely.

Did Shergar run over 10f? I'm afraid my knowledge is less than yours. Where did Imperial Monarch run last. Born to Sea ran his best race but otherwise has been a big disappointment. I don't see Camelot has anything to beat in the Leger, save for an older horse.Anyway for me it's the Eclipse, King George, Leger, Arc and possibly Breeder's Cup for Camelot. Run the bugger, get your money's worth from it before it retires in November. Let the public see it.

Sounds a daft thing to say . But this race finished Camelot who was never remotely the same horse after it . Should have run in the eclipse on his favoured fast ground.

Given the low grade rubbish he'll encounter in the St. Leger I can't see him extending himself to win. It would be a training run for the Arc. Footballers play once sometimes twice a week and run miles during a match. As long as they keep fit they can cope easily. Horses are far too cossetted. In the 80s some some sprinters ran every week over the summer.

what a joke obrien has the irish derby destroyed 5 runners omg
@mikerainham12 жыл бұрын
The st leger winner is normally good but not a great horse. Reference point was a derby winner, conduit won a king George. A good horse but not in sea the stars league. Oh so sharp, was a great horse. It is the weakest classic, but it shouldn't be shortened or open to older horses

Camelot is obviously a very good colt but to have only 5 runners in this time honoured race is an absolute joke. Happens way too often in European racing
