I still rock the 4 year old Weelbill S and glad they actullly updated the software to accommodate the Fuji system of the same cameras and and it still works just as good at least for my work flow...Zhiyun makes very nice compact gimbles with good motors... Thanks Chris

Such dedication with this video! I have the Weebill S and same story there, lacking full support for Fuji :( Unsure whose to blame; I’ve heard it’s Zhiyun issue, I’ve also heard Fuji hasn’t opened the gates fully for zhiyun’s full functionality. Not sure what the true story is, it just sucks. Could have been a 10/10 gimbal.

Thanks for this Chris! DJI still isn't supporting the XT5, so this seems to be the only option right now. And, reasonably priced compared to the DJI gimbals. I'm just starting to shoot video, especially high speed video of BIF. Hummingbirds and ospreys are excellent subjects! :)

Thanks for the great review of an interesting and affordable gimbal. When Weebill lists only 4 supported fujifilm cameras, I see X-H2s as one. I assume that means the X-H2 is not supported but was surprised that somehow the electronics are different between the two. Is that how you read it also?

Great Video. In my experience i've noticed that the mounting threads on the bottom to mount the plates come loose too easily for fuji. Im not sure if this is an issue with my xt4 but I happened to notice it in this video as well. My only work around for this is to use a camera cage or base mount and then use attach the gimbal plate on that screw making it very secure. That way you can avoid a very expensive accident. Hope this helps.

I think a lot of people are in the same mindset as me they like me would love a gimbal but the hassle of balancing it and then re-balancing it every single time you change the lens is far too much hassle unless you make lots of money from your video work. I mean balancing it takes a few minutes of adjusting the camera via the slider plates from side to side and back and forth each time you change to a different lens.

Quick question (for all): when you use 2 plates stacked to mount the camera on the gimbal, do you have balancing problems? Ok, I have a smaller gimbal than the Weebill 3 (I use the Scorp Mini), but even when I had bigger gimbals, stacking plates elevated the center of the gravity of the camera and made the balancing much harder (almost impossible sometimes).

Nope, the Weebill 3S has a built-in battery, if you want to replace it, I'm afraid that you have to send it back to the maintenance center of the Zhiyun.

Chris off topic a bit. Have you come across upon turning on xt5, the view finder is all white? The only thing that corrects it is turning the camera off.

Frankly from all gear I have acquired over the years, the only one I regret purchasing was my gimbal. With the Ibis on the latest cameras being so good gimbals are kind of redundant.

Definitely a good point for camera w/ IBIS for sure, but also heavily depends on the focal length you are shooting and what framerate you are going for (60fps slowed to 24, etc.). I probably should have mentioned the difference between shooting gimbal w/ XT3, etc. vs. XT4 (IBIS) using non-OIS lenses such as 16mm, etc.

When I use such a gimbal do I need to turn off the IBIS of the camera? and VR on the lens? (If my lens has vibration reduction) I was told that we should use only one type of stabilization at a time.

Hello I tried to connect my RS3 Mini to Fuji X-T30 ii with RSS USB-C to USB-C cable. The camera is equipped with XF 27mm 2.8 lens. Both camera and lens are listed as compatible at DJI website. But when I tried to use the follow focus feature with the gimbal's dial, I've found that it's completely unusable. And the reason is following. When I try to set the focus using gimbal's dial, the focus starts changing. But when I stop moving the dial, the focus does not stop changing. Sometimes the focus does not start changing when I start moving the dial. Sometimes the focus goes into infinity instantly. Overall experience is very laggy and I cannot use the feature in real shooting. Both lens are working normally, the focus in being set properly with the lens' dial. As RS3 mini supports changing other parameters with gimbal's dial, such as ISO and aperture, I tried changing them and it works smootly. The problem is only with focus pulling. Also I've noticed that while changing the focus with gimbal's dial, the s.s., F and ISO indicators on the bottom of the camera screen, which are normally blue in fully manual mode, are blinking into white and then into blue again. So I guess there is some issue in camera firmware in part of processing the RSS input for focus parameter. The camera and the gimbal both have the latest firmware by date I tried operating the camera both in USB tether auto and USB tether fixed modes - the result is the same. Am I missing some settings, or I've ran into a bug? Thank you!

Weebill 3s looks pretty good, thank you.. Have you tried the DJI RS 3 mini ? Any idea if bluetooth is compatible Fuji ? I use the Ronin SC and XT-3, i tired pairing the gimbal with the cable, the record function from the gimbal was not relighable. I hate having to tap the record button all the time.. shakes the video every time has to be trimmed in post.

This looks awesome. Does anyone have any experience with this gimbal and the Fuji X-S20? I just bought one as my first videography camera (have had the x-pro 3 for years now and love it for stills) but it seems like compatible gimbals are SEVERELY lacking for the xs20. What’s even worse is I bought the DJI RS 3 mini with the xs20 before finding the Reddit thread that essentially says they do not work at all together (the dji gimbal arrived before the xs20, the camera should be arriving in the next few days)

Adjust the focal length to the value you use when shooting, then balance the gimbal. If you need to adjust the focus frequently when shooting, you can adjust the focus to the middle value and then balance the gimbal.

It needs to at least support start/stop via the USB-C connection because the Weebil doesn’t support a shutter release cable for the RSS remote socket on the camera. I asked Zhiyun about that but they wouldn’t say whether the USB control would work.

Another excellent video, however a couple of points and I’m not nitpicking or I am nitpicking but I find that you you do team to go a hell of a pace when you’re explaining things and it does get a bit heavy. Also you do often say do you see that and you’re not getting any feedback it’s like my son used to say no you know you know it’s something that in tutoring terms he’s looked at as being gay a tick or a habit which is not needed again I would say that it’s an excellent video, but there is also one last thing your skillet doing videos involves a lot of takes retakes and the cameras in out readjusting in out instead of it being in the same place I know you don’t want it to become wooden but you have the skills to just be natural so just be natural you’re brilliant at what you do. It sometimes takes a third-party to observe and comment on those in my former lives. I’ve been in front of cameras and been given feedback or watched the cameras back and you see these habits that we all develop some of them are okay and don’t really affect anything but others are distracting and so their comments but well done brilliant
