I've been shooting stills on my Xt-3 for a couple of years. Last year we were locked down here in Spain, no exercise permitted, my photo work dried up instantly, and I had a lot of time on my hands..... so I switched it to video mode and started to learn. I found this channel fairly quickly and watched more or less everything. A year on.... I am now starting to get paid for shooting video, and it's 99% thanks to you. It's one of the best instructive KZbin channels I have come across and I haven't taken the time to say thanks so far... so here it is. Thanks..... it doesn't seem enough really, but I really, really mean it. Keep doing what you do.

Nice, how are you getting paid to shoot video? I’m looking to do the same just curious
@oliverstuart3 жыл бұрын
@@cbskater44 Fairly basic stuff to be honest, but mostly for small business social media. Everyone wants video these days. I bought a gimbal to go with the camera, downloaded DaVinci Resolve, which is free and excellent. I've been a pro stills photographer for 15 years and just started to offer a few free taster videos to my existing clients to see if they liked them, and they started hiring me. I'm sure an expert videographer would see all kinds of faults, but my clients seem to like them, and like the price and it really boosts their engagement on Instagram, which seems to be what it is all about these days.... and it's fun to learn something new.

And as a Fujifilm shooter for over 6 years I have never touched this functionality. This episode is like the Rosetta Stone! Thank You, Thank You, Thank You - I have been looking for this valuable info FOREVER. No one on KZbin ever gives this info. All they tell is how they THINK you should set your Fuji up for “good” video. I would guess most don’t understand what you have graciously provided. HALLELUJAH! Now I know what I am looking at in the Video Menu Mess. I’m used to the old days of picking up a camcorder, turning it on and pressing the record button. Stupid me, I thought, now I have a camera that will eliminate the camcorder. Until you come along I was totally lost. Thank You! Now I can start making good use of the other half of my T4. You make every session so easy to understand. A tremendous breath of fresh air. That You! for not leaving the, how to, details out. And, you do it with a smile on your face. 👏

the most important thing is definitely the bitrate. you can draw a completely black rectangle in photoshop at 4k res. and it'll be technically a 4k res image but that doesn't mean it has details. as long as your bitrate is low, high resolution has no meaning at all.

I can already see the limitations of my computers ability to process the newer file formats. I have the X-T4 and I also have a GoPro10. I use Roxio editing software (not the best, worked good with older technology) I am also grappling with connectivity issues (USB C) and throughput bottle-necking and again, the limitations of yesterdays standards. Even today, devices are still catching up to the newer standards, and you may not appreciate the full potential of the new equipment until everything catches up. So, ya, a lot of compatibility issues concerning these interesting topics.
