Which camera mode do you use and why ?

Canon 2000D, it's my first camera and it's the most popular and I find it easy to use. Hopefully I'll move to newer versions of the Canon offerings.

Canon EOS 90D, most of the time on M. Sometimes I drop to auto, to check what the camera thinks of a certain situation, but apart from that, it's on M. I like to controle the triangle myself.

Just started watching your videos a week back and I already feel my photography skills have improved quite a bit with your tutorials. A practical example of shooting video with a blurred background on a Nikon D3300/3400 with the kit lens or a 50mm 1.8G lens would be really helpful.

Thanks Paul, Iy think the goal for a photographer is comfortable with the camera in manual mode when they need/want to use it. The others modes are very useful in the field depending on what you need at the time and should be regularly used. Exposure compensation might a great topic to cover.

Hi Paul, it's great to watch another one of your videos, always easily explained by you. I wish they had a Channel like yours when i first learnt photography. You are so right when you said to use all functions on a Camera, like you said they are there for a reason. Also when photographers say don't shoot at a high ISO, they are the to use in the right situation. We can always trust that your advice is always correct and how photography should be learnt. I really feel for new photographers when they are given bad advice, and they get information overload. Thanks for this great video Paul.

Can you please explain how you were able to select shutter speed and aperture while in program mode. I have a Canon R50 . The LCD screen shows two gray boxes next to the "P". I'm unable to toggle between them.

I do 't have an R50 available to compare, but typically in P mode you cannot individually adjust the shutter and aperture - the camera chooses a combination for you, but when you turn the dial you can select different combinations.

Is it ok to leave the ISO on auto mode?

If you wish that is fine, but you may wish to adjust exposure compensation so that you have more control over the final image.
