Nah…. Got a SX50 HS. Only an ‘umble bridge camera but the 50-1 zoom is worth its weight in gold. You can’t do anything like it with DSLR camera even if you have the entire range of lenses.

So clearly explained. I have used Exp Comp by 'eye' and isn't always reliable. Clever technique to slightly overexpose, so you get your detail captured, then bring it down a bit in editing. It's clear editing gets good images looking great.

Not shooting in raw is downright idiotic. You want to have as much information in the picture as possible. Shooting in jpg is like taking all the CDs you have and compressing them down to MP3. Jpg is perfect if you are not interested in editing or maximum quality

As usual, another great and very informative video. And as usual, you are the ONLY one out there that does such a superb job of covering so many camera brands in your tips to reach and add value to a broader audience. Kudos!

Hi Paul. Another very helpful video as always. I realize this is an old one, so maybe you don't keep up with comments on it anymore, but if you do.... at the 8:22 mark in the video, as you increase shutter speed you can see the effect (darkening) on the Live View screen real time. I'm trying to do the same on my Nikon D5600, but when I increase or decrease the shutter speed there is no real time change to the Live View display. Is there another setting I'm missing? Whether you respond or not, thanks for all your helpful videos. I think it's great how you create so many of them using both Nikon and Canon products to be more helpful to the broader photography community! Cheers!

Does anyone have this lens with Sony A7ii ? I can't get the little zoom feature to work. It works on my other manual lenses. This one says the lens isn't attached.

I generally set up my digital camera to manual mode 1/60 second at f/2.8 with auto exposure. I dial in 1-stp under exposure and a three stop bracketing. This gives me one shot as the meter reads, on shot 1-stop under and one shot 2-stops under. Usually, one of these three will be perfect but, I can always do an HDR composite. The 1/60 second will allow hand holding and the f/2.8 aperture will will give a lower ISO.

I'd add that "exposure time" is a more accurate term than "shutter speed" for what the numbers indicate -- a measure of how long the sensor is exposed to light, not the speed of the shutter (especially because not all cameras even have shutters these days). But the archaic and misleading term "shutter speed" seems to be what we have settled on, for better or worse.

Thanks for the review, I'm new to photography and recently got a Canon R10. I'm planning to buy my first lens but I'm torn between the Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 and the Tamron 11-20mm f/2.8. Which one do you think would be better for a beginner? I'm looking for something versatile for general use and learning. Thanks for your guidance!"

Go for the 18-50mm. It'll give you more reach since R10 is a crop sensor. The reach is more versatile then the other one

At the risk of having people laugh at me, I moved up to this camera from a Kodak Easyshare. The differences in user options are stark, and I feel intimidated, to put it mildly. My goal is to use the T7 for pictures and videos, primarily for KZbin. Your video was much easier to understand than other videos I've found on KZbin. You don't go ninety miles an hour explaining features, and you don't assume I know some of the most obvious buttons and settings, but pause to get the user acquainted with each one. Thank you.
