What did you guys think of the Fusion for POV? Did you like having the camera pan around?

Much much better than I expected, I'd even say its the best 360 footage I've seen. Imho, we're not there yet to eliminate the physical stabilization, but we are well on the way for 360 cams to dominate.

Picture and colours looked great, but as Ryan says the warping is a bit weird. How do you fix the sd card corruption? 🤔

On the Hero? It's pretty involved, I should make a quick video on it. Once you know how it's not terrible, but not 100% perfect. ust better than no footage.

Looks and sounds pretty good to me. Except for a bit of weirdness going on near the edges and a bit of trouble in the dark, rough patches, you could probably replace the gimbal.

It has pros and cons for sure. I think *any* 360 camera is going to have issues in low light. It's just the nature of how EIS works.

I was pretty impressed with the dynamic range. In the trees you did have the skyline blowing out, but nothing I'd consider terrible for a 360 camera.

Overall looks pretty smooth and decent quality with the exception of the warping around the edges, as others have pointed out. And you zoning comment was classic. That’s the end of ride tired focus loss. 😜

I'll be surprised if they're working on it. I think GoPro is really trying to get the Hero cameras all sorted out. The 5/6 were kinda "meh" but the Hero 7 has been great step int he right direction.

@@TrailFeatures I agree, the 7 is the best Hero in a long while. The problem for GoPro as a company is that the 4 was good enough for most people. But the fusion has novelty on it's side. If only it were just a bit more reliable, it could maybe pull the company (and it's stock) out of their slump!

what size frame u have and how tall u? im 5'9.5" and looks that im right in the middle of the m and m/L.. how do u feel the reach is for u? im wanting to be bit playful on the rootdown.. but dont want have to go to long stem just to comfortably if u know what i mean.. the new rootdowns 2019 will have shorter seat tube i hear. but reach and is same. and the blue color is comeing back :)

I'm 6'2 and riding a large. Reach feels about perfect.

Eh, maybe after a bit more testing. Need to get the sound dialed in. The editing process is straight forward, but super hard on my system.

The footage reminds me a lot of the Garmin VIRB 360. The software is the real winner with the Garmin though, for ease of use

Looks good, I do see some occasional screen tearing from their stitching process. I think it looks a bit sharper than most rylo footage which has always been my issue with the rylo (rylo has way to much motion blur). I wonder how it would fair to a direct comparison with the hero 7.

I almost think i could get a bit more quality out of it with a some more tweaks to my workflow. Going from 4k (rylo) to 5.2k is a massive leap in quality. Once I get the insta360 ONE X in my hands I will be doing a comparison with the GoPro 7 and Sony X3000.

Oh, yeah, now i know what you're talking about. I had the FOV a little too wide i think so you could see the stitch lines come into frame. Need to play with the mounting position and editing.

Those 400mm bars are 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 lol, quality is good for 360, but if your gear and seths imac struggle to render it, I don't know that its worth the effort.

For 360 video you need a strong GPU, not just a fast CPU and RAM. With a 8700k, 32GB of ram, and a GTX 1080 Ti I can do a _decent_ job working with this footage. That said, this is very much a prosumer camera with a very prosumer workflow for sure.

It's not bad. Definitely the best quality out of the 360s. That price though 😲I like how you can direct the viewers attention and don't necessarily have to worry about framing. Not too into the video warbling at the edges (technical term 😂) but it seems to be a pretty clean, low-key setup, just with a higher price tag. PS Send me all your blueberry Laras.

For $600, it's about the best quality you can get. I'll be putting it up against the new Insta360 ONE X when I get it.

I personally would not. And that actually doesn’t have anything to do with the image quality, it’s the fact that GoPro has not updated the fusion desktop app since 2018. 90% of your experience with a 360 camera is actually in the software. Insta360 not only is continuously updating their platform, but has legacy support for all their old cameras

The video and sound quality were fine but that weird wavy effect that was going on periodically at the edges of the screen was a little distracting, almost like Predator was tracking you the entire ride.

Yup. Ultra wide lenses are a double edged sword. It lets you get everything in shot, but it flattens it like a steamroller.

I’ll add yet another wavy effect comment. I watched on both the phone and my tv to see if there was a difference and sadly no. Definitely not happy with the fusion footage I’ve seen to date. Not just yours. Though I have gopros. the rylo and oneX look better to me personally overall

The distortion popped out the most after the blueberry comment. Is it a matter of editing software? Dunno. Not a deal breaker but..... sped and a lot of movement make it stand out. Colors and sharpness look good though. P.S. just saw the comment on your FOV so that’s probably it. Thx
