Randy was my guitar teacher and my neighbor! I was 12 when I started taking lessons from him until he left for Ozzy in late 79 when I was almost 14. I wish I knew what I had at the time, but he still talked with me about guitar. The REASON Ozzy even had a solo career! I grew up in the middle of all these Guitar Hero guys when they were just playing clubs! Keep up the good job! Question and answer riffs he did a lot! Oh yeah, it's S.A.T.O. ! Randy told me it meant one thing and Bob Daisley said it meant something else!

Cameron, for millions of us 80’s kids, Randy is right up there with Edward as most influential guitarist of our generation. You’re an amazing musician, Cameron. Appreciate you keeping the legacy of such great musicians alive.

Evh stands out to me because he has soooo many riffs that are unique, groovy, and super fun to play. I think out of any guitarist, Evh came up with the most songs that from the moment I first heard them, I knew I wanted to learn to play them. On my list of influential guitarists from the 80’s, Randy is almost tied with Vito Bratta for 3rd & 4th.

Randy Rhoads changed the game, he is on every level with Ed, if not even a better live player and writer. Ed chased tone and riffs, Randy wrote compositions. He is the reason Jackson guitars exists.

@@MF-Alien Ed was a riff writer, tone chaser....songs. Randy wrote compositions and was probably a more knowledgeable able player .Ed is obviously an all time great. If Randy is tied with vito you need to re- evaluate things, Listen to the countless bootlegs of Randy it changes the game and then the isolated guitar track. Vito would tell you he is not in the league with Randy.

YOU are such an inspiration to me. I finally got trem picking after 3 years of trying. THANK YOU for your videos. I bought the EVH 5150 guitar. I've been flushing out MY style. I've played guitar 44 years. Now I'm retired I can play an average of 6 hours a day.

I could tell from the thumb what lick was first, classic. Also, a classic riff from Randy is the prechorus of "I don't know". The big G to the apreggiated F! And his best solo imho is the outro for Tonight.

One of my favourites from Randy was only played 3 times in 1 of the songs. It’s the riff that’s played before the solo in Diary of a Madman. It’s such a powerful riff and adds such an impact to the song despite being played a few times

Do you know the story behind that Steal Away the Night riff? The band was in the studio recording a couple of songs for Blizzard. Randy was warming up in his room and he was playing that opening riff as a warm up exercise. Ozzy heard that down the hall, came rushing down the hall, burst open the door to Randy's room and asked him "What the hell was that?" Randy told him that he was just warming up. Ozzy said 'Remember that. That's going to be our next song."

One of the most original. I can't really think of anyone who even tries to play like him. He had so many unique approaches to the guitar.. He and EVH are true GOATS. He's not blistering fast but doesn't need to be. I was surprised when u said Lee was your fave Ozzy guitar. But everyone has their opinion. That's cool

Hey Cameron I unscrewed the Toggle switch from the front and unscrewed the back plate and turned the toggle so the bridge is up like Ed did it. This allows for tapping without bumping into the toggle. It's real easy to do. I also put 8s instead of 9s adjusted the truss accordingly plays great.

I like that you chose 3 songs that do not get the attention they should, the rhythm on Believer is insane.... too bad he never played S.A.T.O. live.....the countless bootlegs we post on the legacy page, he changes those other two songs nightly. Randy Rhoads music is clinic onto itself... I recommend people check out the isolated guitar tracks for both albums and the Live Mr. Crowley EP.

Cameron there is one riff Randy does on the Suicide Solution live solo in Cleveland in 1981. He opens with 2 ascending n descending runs then stops. Then does this 3 note per string climb n the riff he does right before he starts the diminished arpeggio descending n ascending run. Do you know what he is doing there. Nobody has covered that live version which is the best IMO.
