Hey Cam. I just want to say that I’m sitting in a hospital bed recovering from having my left leg above the knee amputated. One of last things I take off before I go back to the OR every time is my Keep Hammering bracelet that reads “Nobody Cares, Work Harder.” That motto is in my head for this battle I’m going through. I’m 31 and have had 11 surgeries on that knee/leg. Ended up battling a bad infection that got into my bones is why the amputation. Anyways, you’re an inspiration and I look at that bracelet every day. My wife had to pack a bag for me and she brought me my hoodie with the same phrases on them. Just wanted to say you’re making a difference and I truly appreciate it.

Hunting in the mountains is so special. I just can't get enough of it. I love your passion for the hunt. God has blessed us all that chase elk in wilderness. I don't know where I would be without it. We all sacrifice time with our families to chase these amazing elk. It's what we were meant to do. It's always a chessmatch to get into the perfect place to get a nice bull. Thanks for sharing this adventure with all of us.

...part 2. Tracy was right when she said because of her faith in Jesus she WILL see her brother and best friend! Cam, you CAN see Roy again. Death is temporal. We are eternal, but it's your choice weather you want to. He is in heaven with his lord and savior. Give your life to Jesus and you'll see Roy in paradise. You can bet he is hoping and waiting for you brother....but you need Jesus to make that happen. You don't need religion or even church, Just talk to Jesus. Tell him about your pain. He'll take that any your sin IF you let him, and in exchange you will inherit eternal life with not only him, but your boys and wife (by the sounds of it). You can do this brother. Lots of love from a friend you'll probably never see.......maybe in heaven.

If I can get advice from anyone I would be so grateful. This is what I want to do. I live in Utah but have never killed big game and I want to train but I don’t know how to navigate land without getting lost. I get turned around so easily but that’s been my biggest fear and biggest question. How do you get started on scouting and navigating through land without getting lost. I know there’s awesome tools like on x but I want to be able to do it without the maps too in case my phone is dead or anything like that.
@branndonbowman16 күн бұрын
Garmin Inreach, but onx offline maps downloaded with a few power banks works good too

Big game hunting is great. With archery equipment it is even more rewarding and challenging. As I get older I appreciate the life of the animal and the meat it provides way more than anything else. I have been bowhunting my entire life and I am still learning how to be the best predator that I can be.

I'm just an average Joe who has been calling elk for over 35 years. I wonder how many elk or how big an elk Cam would really have if he would use an internal reed elk call instead of his voice. Just my opinion elk have been habituated to the human voice.

Lol Hunting on reservations and private ranches. I don't even know how you could hunt on such easy hunts and act like it takes any skill. Dude brings in a ton of hunters, profits off of it, and doesn't have to deal with it by worse draw odds and more packed public lands because he just pays his way through.
@Bedurchens17 күн бұрын
Cam has produced for decades on public land.
@akuai440817 күн бұрын
@@BedurchensWell obviously when he started out because he didn't have a choice, but now he's just another rich hunter that only hunts on reservations and private lands. Like I said, he brings in a ton of hunters and makes it more difficult for ordinary people like me and you that have to hunt public lands and go through draw processes. He profits off of it and doesn't have to deal with any of the bs he causes. People like him have ruined hunting.
@Bedurchens17 күн бұрын
@@akuai4408 I’m just talking about the skill aspect. I don’t think it matters where he hunts. All the other stuff you mention I can’t comment on as I don’t live in the states.
@akuai440817 күн бұрын
@@Bedurchens It still doesn't take much skill at all. These reservations and private lands he hunts are next to public lands that get hammered and pressured like crazy and it makes the animals go to these reservations and private lands next to them where it's less pressured.
