Very impressive performance. Has anyone dyno'd one of these yet? Running low 14's at 100mph, it would have to be making closer to 250hp/200tq - If/when turbo kits come out for these, it's going to be a serious pocket rocket. Also i wouldn't sweat the 0-60mph time too much. Very difficult getting a good time on the street in cool conditions like that, the 30-100mph time is much more telling anyway IMO.
@JoseFlores-lg3ms2 жыл бұрын
Ive seen some people get 208-211rwhp. Cant remember torque figures tho. But the dyno chart with a 13 vs a 22 are pretty similar except the 22 maintains 30+lbft from 4k rpm and up. Lower end torque is massively improved. Like 50+lb under 3k compared to the 13 models

The PS4S tires have pretty terrible traction in sub 65 degree temps. When it comes to launching, you need to launch at a high rpm (4500+rpm) and slip the clutch quite a bit at first and you won't be able to go full throttle until 5000+rpm. It's a balancing act. Dumping the clutch isn't good on axles and input shafts and is slower on street tires. Slipping the clutch is hard on the clutch, but that's it. It's the quickest way to lower 60 foots and ETs. Launch like I said and get some practice and you'll shed .2 seconds and drop around .3 seconds in ET pretty easily. A stock BRZ is totally capable of 2.0 60 foots on the stock tires. Lastly, if the wheels are 8 inches wide, you can fit 245s which is plenty of meat for a car that weight and power. I'm pushing nearly 400wtq in my M235 running 245 PS4S tires and I don't have much in way of traction issues unless it's cold out.

7:48 little grind going in to 2nd there? do these have carbon synchros like the wrx? edit 10:36 there it was again. this might have the carbon synchros, they are prone to letting the gear grind (dont worry, its quite strong) when forced because they are slow to build friction and mesh the next gear, the plus side is that they are far more durable, BUT there is a trick to shift quickly with them. i have a 21 wrx and 2nd gear will absolutely grind if forced. try placing light pressure on it towards 2nd right before you clutch for the upshift, then when you clutch, as soon as the synchro builds enough friction to mesh the next gear, it will pop in with no grind. this is not necessary for any other upshift, and dont get in the habit of putting pressure on the shifter while the clutch is engaged, only for that specific scenario.

@@MyGoToUserName i slowed it down frame by frame i think you are right, looks like he is lifting his clutch foot before the shift is complete, although, it should still have popped into gear without a grind unless it does indeed have the carbon synchros, might be one of the changes from 1st gen. my 21 wrx was updated to carbon synchros for 1st and 2nd gear, and even with the clutch fully to the floor, it will grind into 2nd if forced or not properly rev matched, as long as you properly rev match the upshift you hardly need to clutch.
