On my 4th pair in 10 years. Im a pipefitter in Alberta and work in both indoor and outdoor climates. Considering I wear these about 50 hours a week all year round, they hold up very well.

@littlewigglemonster7691 you find research boots are good for welding?

Sounds like you need to take better care of your boots. This is a high end boot and even under tough conditions, running through a pair every 2.5 years does not sound like you treat them well.

been wearing this model every day since 2011. ive on my 4th pair. keep them clean and polished they will last. I got a patch on my current pair it had a tear. over 10k miles on them easy.

Thanks, this have been a great help. I have been bouncing through different work boots for years, I feel like you are giving a really honest review, and given what i have heard from you and others, i think I'll be going with these or similar red wings for my next set

Thank you very much it takes a long time to give a honest review when you factor in 2-3 pairs over 5-6 years i really do like them. But having said that after i tore the sole off my last pair i made the change to a locally made pair of boots and I’m hoping to give them a initial review in a couple months

don't get sticker shock. They pay for themselves in lifespan. If you get a pair, wear them in water for about a half hour and walk about mile to help break them. They will hurt your feel until they become comfortable.

@@JJJJspam They break in easier than the dynaforces. Those really hurt. But when I’m running a machine for hours on end it matters.

Only boots I’ve worn for the last 15 years . I’m a contractor , specialize in framing mostly but sometimes siding and roofing is part of the gig . Obviously roofing is tougher on the boots but I figure even if I go through a pair a year it works out to $1 (usd )/day I always keep 2 spare pairs just in case .

I had these boots. I put them on the furnace vent and ruined them not knowing any better. They fell apart so im going to give them another try.

You need to: 1) clean, condition and wax them more often, 2) use a false tongue to prevent lace cuts into your shoe. Optinal: protect the toe more with Tuff Toe or so.

They're direct injection not glued on as stated multiple times.

Do you find these to be too warm in the summer months? I’m deciding between the insulated and non insulated version. Thanks.
@TheManNamedPaolo Жыл бұрын
If you're 100% working in a warm climate/indoors, you dont need the insulated. I work in Alberta and get both ends of the weather spectrum. Its better to stay warm than freeze your toes in my experience
@Xrobberyx9 ай бұрын
Been a year since you made this comment so you’ve probably already made your choice but I wear them year round from 95° to 0° Fahrenheit anything lower than that I’ll wear something with more thinsulate . But I wear them 340ish days a year

A local cobbler can’t resole these for less? These boots are like 500$ im sure its not cheaper to buy a new pair

Looks like some hipster took sandpaper to them! I know forced patina when I see it
@cameronmcpeak51833 жыл бұрын
Naah just allot of steel fibre reinforced concrete overlays. And probably neglecting maintenance.

If that’s a forced patina in your eyes, you need to get your eyes checked.
