Trying to understand how this works Is there 2 valves inside the block that open and close with the solinoids that dump the pressure through the jets?

So I could actual soften the transition with this in the case of hitting 3rd and knocking the tires off with pretty tight converter, and cure it. (Because everything else is great ( so far knock knock))

Did you still have to modify the TH400/pump converter charge circuit by drilling and tapping a Orifice plug, or does the regulator eliminate that mod?

This may be a stupid question. I have a th475. It has straight cut gears in it. Will that eliminate the thrust toward that you are talking about?

How would I program the holley if I want to open a dump on the brake and then leave it open a certain amount of time after the release of the brake? I'm running a blower car and would like lower pressure to allow the motor to briefly accelerate faster at launch

Great video Devin. I haven't installed any dump valves in my turbo 400 yet. Do you still have a first gear in your turbo 400 or are you pretty much a 2-speed now. I bought a grinder 2 / 3 speed valve body. Probably going to be installing that over the winter and a transmission freshen up.

Hi Devin, does this dump valve require any internal modications to the valve body or its simply an external that tees in the cooler line? Asking as I have read the internally dumped ones spool significantly faster. But if this is simply a solenoid t'd into the cooler line then I'm sold on it. Thanks again

That won't help your thrust bearing issues significantly. The "ballooning" is due to pressure between the turbine and impeller... not the trans pump.

It's not ballooning, that's something totally different. This is due to the pressure being diverted or bled from entering the converter which pushes the converter out of the pump

@@hankclingingsmith8707 I disagree, although that could also be a small contributor. Pump pressure is regulated.

@@michaelangelo8001 I agree! All this thing is doing is regulating cooler flow pressure , It’s just dumping the pressure that’s already been regulated inside the converter. An experienced builder will reduce pressure Before it enters the Converter.
