I took the industrial route - and hated it! Take the river route if you can find it!

Thanks for weighing in, that seems to be the general consensus. But yes we found the turn-off to be poorly marked so having an app or something to mark the way is very helpful.

Such beautiful views, lovely little (and not so little!) towns.

Burgos looks so nice and we will definitely look for the River option route on the way in. We’re hoping we can do this in the spring after our Australian winter (or their summer, I guess). I’m so happy you guys created this series. Not only do I enjoy watching it now, but know it will be a great reference tool on the walk.

Thanks for the kind message. And yes, definitely look for that river route! You guys will have such a great time, I can't wait to hear about your experience! (I think walking in the Spring would be way too cold for me, but then you're already aware of the name of our channel. haha)

My husband and I take off for the Frances next month. Out of all the videos I watch you guys are my favorite! I love your format on how the daily walking was to your helpful tips at the end. Although this will be our 6th Camino I have learned something new on each video. We have stayed away from the Frances because of the crowds but it appears that it has relaxed a bit. Maybe the economy slowed things down?

Your sixth? That is so inspiring! We definitely want to do another one. And yeah, I mean we don't have anything to compare to, but we haven't found the Frances overly crowded at all. Yes there are other people around, but not in a way we found distracting, and we haven't had any issues finding a bed. What we've heard is the the shoulder seasons have gotten more crowded and the summer less so since people are afraid of the heat. But we've been cold more often than we've been hot! And thanks for the kind words, I'm so glad you enjoy the videos. We hope more people will be able to find them!

Thanks for a great series of videos. I love the daily recaps and tips which will be so helpful for my walk in September. I will be definitely seeking out the Burgos river route and hope to seek out some of those special places to stay. I was surprised to hear you found it clean. I’ve heard many stories of how much toilet paper and human waste has been left on the way and have strategies in place so I don’t contribute to that. I’ve heard it is a big problem esp the last 100km . Happy Travels 😃

We found most of the trail to be very clean, which we were very happy about, since we too had heard such complaints. I will say, it gets much worse after Sarria, which is a real shame. I think those folks are too often in big groups and are not hikers who were raised on the "pack it in pack it out" philosophy. So yes that needs to be improved, but MOST of the way we found people to be quite responsible. And so glad you are enjoying the videos!

More good info, Burgos looks like a beautiful city, thanks. The town of Lerma (Avic's family name) is about 30km south.

Oooh, that is fun trivia. Are you going to make a detour to go see it?

We took the industrial route around the airport, it was possibly the worst part of the entire walk!

We keep hearing that, thanks for sharing. So glad we took the river route!
