I wanna go there through the Camino del Norte with the bike in the future, it will be a totally different experience with France course, I did Feb of 2018. I respect your journey to Fisterra.

Hello , Great video. I like all the views of del Norte. What apps are you guys using to follow el Norte and does it's very well marked. Gracias. I am planning to do it this year2022 and also on a bike. Luis from Ocala, Florida USA

Excellent question, Luis. I am equally interested in such a trip. Only difference is that we are from Maine! :)

Che bei ricordi. Anch'io con mia moglie abbiamo fatto lo stesso percorso nel 2011, e nel 12 il Francese sempre in bike. BRAVI

I am interested in biking the last 200 miles of the Northern Route and wondering if I can rent a bike in Gijon without booking it ahead of time. Do you know?

It is well marked, I mainly used maps.me application where you can download maps and use it in offline mode

Thanks for an inspiring summary of your trip. I am planning my own Norte by bike and I was wondering do I need a MTB bike or is a narrow tire bike fit for this?
@trilogiedelarche Жыл бұрын
MTB definitely, or gravel bike. Tyres should be 35 or 40 mm and built to take in shocks. + I have fitted my own bike with Smart Tubeinner tubes. This makes a flat tyre much less likely

I really like their high visibility jackets. If I can find any which are waterproof I would buy those. I always go very slow around people and would have walked or gone very slow between two files of people. It makes the walkers hate bicigrinos. I would never have ridden fast over rocks. As an old person I can't afford the risk a serious injury would ruin my entire retirement. It is against the law and serious problem to the environment to burn things like boots or shoes at Finisterre or muxia and the law is posted. other than those things I liked the video.

Hi Kristaps, nice video! I'm planning my camino at the moment, and starting up in Roscoff, I was going to ride down the Atlantic coast, picking up route Frances to Santiago, then back route Norte as far as Santander.. Thing is, I was hoping to do it on my touring bike.. Did you come across anyone else doing del Norte on a tourer (or if not, do you think it's feasible)? Gracias, Jason
@KristapsMors9 жыл бұрын
+Jason Black we saw one guy with fixed gear bike (but I guess he mostly chose asphalt roads), so touring bike should be OK. We chose del Norte and most of time used the same path as those who walk it, you get better views this way.

And how many flat tyres due the non asphalt roads
@KristapsMors9 жыл бұрын
+Albertus Jansen 3 flats :)

How many brake blocks you used???????? , o m g, downhill a lot
@KristapsMors9 жыл бұрын
+Albertus Jansen we used rental bikes from BikeIberia, there were situations where brakes overheated and then we took a small break or spilled water on them, but got to the end with functioning brakes, and 3 flat tyres.
