Hi Marc, enjoying your trip so far. I imagine that France/Spain/Portugal tend to have different traditions from England/Germany/Scandinavia etc, but when on Camino, you do from time to time have to deal with the local operating times. Look forward to the rest of your trip!

Still with you! The initial excitement does kind of stop about there but the real lure of the Camino keeps you going to see what's around the next bend. Of course on the Meseta there aren't any bends so that part is kind of an endurance test. I also hope you discovered the roadside bars. I hope they were still open. They saved us during the long days as they were usually open all day and are more than just places to drink, but rather small cafes and very social gathering places for the local people. Still, you have to like Spanish tortillas as you'll get lots of them by the time you're done. Carry on!
