Hello again, those were lovely accommodations you got. My friend who cannot be without food also found it trying on this stretch but we also managed with the few items we were carrying. Buen Camino🙋♀️

Hey Aida! Yeah that was a bit of a tricky stretch. We were lucky with the breakfast place that day, so we remember it well 😂. It was Keith’s first “lomo” bocadillo 😂. We learned quickly just to carry a few noodles or something for emergencies 😉 The place in Oia was particularly nice. But then again absolutely everywhere we stayed was clean and lovely. It was great by and large. 👍🏼

I think we had the same room, probably just a few days apart!! That was such a nice place to stay. :)

lol that’s so cool 😂 Someone was saying they were sitting in the same cafe etc. I think one of the most remarkable things about the Camino is the shared experience, even if you’re walking alone. You’re still a part of the whole experience and history of the Camino, and you are one of thousands and thousands of Peregrinos. We all share a common link ❤️

I'm so glad I found your videos from the beginning of your journey and have enjoyed them greatly. I'm planning to go next year at the same time and I usually hear don't walk in winter, but it looks great to me. The main thing that may draw people to you two is your attitude, it is so refreshing. Thanks!

That’s brilliant to hear, and thank you for your lovely kind comments Michelle. Our advice would be to just do it. Make it your own, and do it. The weather has been a bit mixed for sure, but with the right attitude and a wee bit of luck… 🤞🏼❤️ We had some advice from a hero and friend of ours, Jeff Vonvai (check him out on YT). He said the most challenging days are the ones that you will look back on and cherish the most. He’s absolutely right.

Dont think we have seen these sections of the senda litoral before. So thank you for sharing your videos.

You’re always welcome Lin. We went off route on one day as we’d diverted for accommodation. However, it turned out to be a most beautiful route anyway 😂.

Hola peregrinos! I sooo enjoy your videos. They are so genuine and heartwarming. ❤ And also great footage of the Camino. (My husband and I walked it last April, so your vlogs bring so many happy memories!) And I love your attitude and high spirits no matter what! So glad you stoped by at Xaby's shop (I showed him Efrén's vlog where he features and he was so moved.) Can't wait for your next video! (Btw we also walked around the cape, not over the hill.) Buen Camino!🐌🌝

Hola! That’s so great! LOL that you walked the cape too. Because of our plans to walk short days it made finding accommodation this early in the season a bit more of a challenge. But actually it turned into a beautiful route too. We’re steeling ourselves to start the Spiritual tomorrow 😬 That looks a lot more challenging than the Litoral 🗻😅 That’s a lovely story about Xaby. Also, it was watching Efrén during the Pandemic that brought us to where we are today. He was our first toe in the KZbin waters, and the rest is history 😂 Thank you for the lovely comment and we hope to meet you both on the trail one day for a coffee. Until then, take good care and Ultreia!

Did you end up paying cash at most of the little cafés and coffee shops? Did you set a daily budget of cash to carry? I'm thinking I'll carry 150-200 Euros. Would that be enough? Too much? Did you just use ATMs along the way?
@ChonkyTrundlers5 ай бұрын
Hi! We did use cash in some of the smaller cafes, although to be honest most took card. €200 should be fine as you can always top up from ATMs along the way. You will do great 👍🏼❤️

Do you have goretex shoes? Do you have a 2nd pair?
@ChonkyTrundlers7 ай бұрын
Hiya Lin. Good questions. We’re using Lone Peak Altras, but we decided not to go for the weatherproof versions. We didn’t want our feet to sweat. So we accepted we’d have wet feet at times, but they also dry out so much faster. No, only one pair, but we both have a pair of very lightweight sandals for evenings and days off. I’d definitely recommend trail runners, not boots. The terrain doesn’t justify them in our opinion. We will be discussing our gear in a later video but also we’re planning a Q&A video, so pop any specific things you want to discuss into the Community page and we’ll make sure to include them 👍🏼❤️

Thanks for the info. We are planning to walk in Nov and anticipate wet weather. We are learning so much from your experience. Journey mercies & we are looking forward to the Spiritual portion too. Thank you.

Yeah, I think you will probably need a good poncho too. But it’s safe to say that some of our best days, and most fun and memorable moments have been in crazy weather. It’s your attitude that defines the day. You will have an amazing time ❤️ P.S. The Spiritual Variant is STUNNING!
