My favorite part about watching other people's Caminos is seeing all the places you didn't see when you did the same thing. It's amazing how different everyone's experiences are.

I enjoy watching your Camino vids, and remembering when I did the Frances (2014 1nd 2016) and then del Norte to Santander and then in and on the Primitivo. Proud of the latter which I undertook in 2019 after completing chemotherapy for breast cancer the year before, and I was 67 yo. Planning on the Camino de Madrid commencing 1st May this year. Looking forward to it.

Hi, I’m an Asturian myself and just wanted to make a quick remark, once your glass of sidra has been poured you must drink it all in one sip, if not it losses the bubbles it gets from getting poured that way and tastes worst.

Ah! It was you! In May I was trudging up the long steep road out of Monastery of San Salvador de Cornellana / Corniana when I heard two voices speaking English approach from behind. You both overtook me and took the track through the woods. I caught up with you briefly as you were doing some filming and I chatted to you about Robert Frost. Fantastic to see your videos and I will watch them with interest. Anyhow I got to Santiago de Compostela then took the bus to Ferrol to do the Ingles. I'm back in October to do the Frances. Buen Camino folks

Hey, I'm booking my trip for June 2024 and was wondering if you could recommend alberques to stay in? A video would be good!!!😂 Or some recommendations. Thanks!

We recommend all the places we stayed at, but it really depends on how far you want to walk each day. Maybe we'll make a future video.

You guys are so cute and I loved this series. I start the Primitivo end of April and I am debating if I bring a light sleeping bag or just the silk liner. Shawn, I see you are a fan of the liner and I am trying to follow your packing list (but for a 22L backpack). Were you able to find blankets at all albergues along the Primitivo? I do plan on staying on municipal albergues too, so I am very torn. Thanks!
@DaysWeSpend9 ай бұрын
Thanks so much! If you plan to stay in mostly municipal albergues, they almost never ever have blankets. It can get cold in the mountains, so we recommend staying in private albergues or bringing a blanket or light sleeping bag. Buen Camino!

Hey guys I was wondering if you could do a vlog at some stage (since you are living in Spain for a year) of foods that you can buy in supermarkets (ramon, tortillas, peanut butter, instant rices/pasta etc) for those who want to feed themselves along the way ie: budget hikers on the camino. Thanks in advance - cannot wait to see how many routes you guys do :) Buen Camino

I have two weeks in Spain this summer and am deciding between the part of the del Norte or the entire primitivo. How do they compare? I'm leaning towards the primativo to try and finish all of it, but I've heard food on Norte is much better. Thoughts?
@DaysWeSpend10 ай бұрын
They’re both excellent choices. depends if you want mountains or ocean. If you do the Norte, you can start in Bilbao/Portugalette for the most beach walks.

Hola! Cuanto has gastado de dinero en el camino primitivo? Ellos aceptan tarjeta aún que en los mercados?
@DaysWeSpend Жыл бұрын
Usamos nuestra tarjeta todo el tiempo en Albergues y restaurantes (¡pero el efectivo siempre es bueno también!). No estoy seguro del precio total, pero los albergues cuestan alrededor de 15 € / noche y las comidas también eran asequibles.
@leandroperez9557 Жыл бұрын
@@DaysWeSpend Gracias! Sabes decirme si en los albergues es posible cocinar? Las comidas en el restaurante, cuánto cuestan en média?
@DaysWeSpend Жыл бұрын
La mayoría de los albergues tienen cocinas para cocinar. Como mínimo, suelen tener microondas. Las comidas en restaurantes cuestan una media de €13-15. Pero eso no es pedir pescado.

Hey guys - I really enjoy your videos. I’m a big Camino fan - I’ve done the Frances 3x, the Norte, Portuguese and the Primitivo. You present a great balance of fun and info while being authentic to your goofy positive attitude taking what the Camino throws at you with humor, acceptance and relish. Just how I like my caminos! I actually walked with Hans & Laura last summer ‘22 and had a blast with them. Question for you: what setup do you use to film your exploits (ie camera/phone/gimbal)?
@DaysWeSpend Жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! We’re walking the Via Podiensis with Hans and Laura right now and they say “hi!!!” We film on our iPhones in 4K. We used to use the DJI Osmo Pocket, but our model is now very old! We have a small tripod (and we recently started bringing a microphone).
@chrisr9511 Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the reply! You guys rock! Hey to Hans and Laura! What Camino are you walking right now? I also had an Osmo pocket. I ended up returning it because the screen display was a bit too small for me, and the need for accessories to get wireless transfer to my phone really drove the price up. Also it fell off a table during a long wine stop (!) and it wasn't terribly durable. That was my fault (wine) and I am hard on my gear like Shawn (even without wine). But the size was amazing and I'm waiting for the Pocket2.... In terms of microphone which one do you use/recommend? @@DaysWeSpend
@DaysWeSpend Жыл бұрын
We were on the Via Podiensis and the Camino Frances. Our current microphone is the Rode Videomicro Microphone: moment.8ocm68.net/e95E6. It's got great sound for the weight. It does need a tripod mount though.
