Thank you.It depends on how much time you have... but I would do the Frances if you have the time. I gives you more time to experience what a Camino is about and you get to see a lot of Spain. I just finished a 2nd walk along it and loved it once again.
@colinmcmahon919311 ай бұрын
Hi. I did the Norte two years ago. I took the main route avoiding the Primitivo thinking ' Norte is Norte'. It was a great walk. Very different to the Frances. Next time I do it I will go Norte to Primitivo. Having walked the Primitivo last summer I can assure you that it is spectacular

Is it possible to walk this trail with shorter stages? I am in my 70's and, although fairly fit, I would prefer to take my time and avoid injuries. At the same time, I like quiet and solitary ways. Primativo seems perfect if I can do 15 to 20 km/day. You did a sterling job on the video: thanks for the visual pleasure!
@rolfscaminos Жыл бұрын
Thank you. One could definitely do it in shorter stages. You can also get your backpack transferred if you're on a more strenuous stage if you need. One or two of the stages are a bit difficult as they are rather steep and long... I met a 85 year old from Madrid who did it, and he carried his backpack. Have a great walk! Buen Camino!!!

Your videography is outstanding. I’m enjoying the story and journey. I do have a question about shoes. Other than a short rocky section I don’t see anything that requires boots, especially like you’re wearing. Is it a cultural thing? I’m from US and it seems to me a good pair of trail runners or even a pair of Asics would be a better choice.
@rolfscaminos Жыл бұрын
Thank you. Trail runners are good... but once you hit rocky sections they offer very little ankle support and it is easy to sprain your ankles... especially on the long 5 or 6 km downhill sections. I also prefer boots in mud....

Iʻm just beginning to do research on my first Camino and your camera/commentary coverage makes me think this is the route for me... is drinking water and food access pretty easy on these long day stretches? If Iʻm looking for private rooms in Sept is it safer to make lodging reservations ahead of time? Cell coverage available thoughout?
@rolfscaminos Жыл бұрын
As long as you carry 1 liter of water with you, you should be ok. You probably don't need to reserve too far ahead if you are looking to stay in private rooms as most people are staying in the dorms o this route. Have a great camino!

Fantastic video. I have done 3 Caminos. The C Frances. The C Portuguese (from Porto). And the C Ingles.. Im now researching the C Primitivo. I was interested in the fact that you carried both trail shoes and boots. I used trail shoes for the first time on the Portuguese and Ingles. And it was beneficial. As there is quite a bit of asphalt walking in both. So if taking only one shoe type, I would assume boots would be better for the Primitivo. But yes I understand it is a personal preference. I would be doing it in late April to early May. So assuming once again. The weather may be different to what you experienced. Thank you.
@rolfscaminos10 ай бұрын
I am glad you enjoyed it. Trail runners are great but on the Primitivo I definitely would recommend also taking boots as there are very long up and down sections on rough terrain.
