Cammed 2018 Tahoe w/ headers and Corsa exhaust

Not my truck. No, I don’t know the tire size.
Quick sound clip of a sweet tahoe I installed a set of Kooks catless headers on.
It came in with a Texas speed stage 1 dod delete cam and a corsa axle back. Turned out nice and made about 340whp.

I work at a performance and dyno shop. Yes I still have the corvette just never have any time to get any new vids or anything if it. Soon I’ll be going on some road-trips and such and plan on getting more videos. Thanks for being interested!

It was a customer vehicle. All I did was do the headers and exhaust. Boss man did the tune. It already had the cam when in came in. But parts labor for it all including tune your lookin at least 4k or so probably

Crank hp vs wheel hp. Dynometers measure power at the wheels. Not the motor. Stock that thing makes mid-high 200s to the tire.

Isn’t stock horse power on this is 335? So you upgrade headers and corsa exhaust and only get 3 hp increased.

Your confusing crank hp with wheel hp. A dynamometer measures horsepower at the tire, not at the engine. For example, a c6 z06 engine is advertised at 505hp. By the time that power gets to the ground it’s only about 450 or so stock. This Tahoe made what it made after the power had to go through a 4x4 transfer case, auto trans, big differential, and big heavy meaty tires. This hp is roughly what it should be making with these mods. To the tire, not the engine. The engine itself is probably making 400ish with the mods. I actually did this exact setup minus the cam on another Tahoe after this and it made about 40 or so hp less putting it around 300 wheel horsepower.

@@corvettesplus4913 So basically if you have a stock engine with 300 hp from the engine? You probably will only get 260 hp At the wheel. Is that how you read Hp at the wheels and hp at the engine.

@@denvernuggets007 correct! Generally speaking there are a lot of variables that go into how much hp is lost through the driveline. But on big suv and such it’s usually a significant amount due to the auto trans and big wheels/tires. Another example is we see early hellcats rated at 707 making low/mid 600s to the tire. With the stick shift cars usually making a little more. You can refer to it as “crank horsepower” meaning engine horsepower at the crankshaft. Or wheel horsepower, measured at the wheels.

It’s a 4wd 5.3l with a lift and heavy wheels/tires with a low lift stage 1 cam. It’s not supposed to be a race car. Sorry it’s not up to your standards
