I have a cam (110 LSA 218/224 528/536 max with 1.6 rockers) about to go into my lt1. Someone told me that angle was to low so its nice to see other people running bigger cams with the same angle and even lower.

@@CamaroKevin84 yeah, hard to imagine a custom ground cam thats for stock heads and intake. Car sounds good but post makes no sense. I have a custom ground bullet cam buts its for a 8000 dollar race ls2. Custom because its matched to everything else. So i dont get why this guys cam is custom. And i never heard of a LE company.

@@last.of.the.v8s you can have a custom cam ground for whatever combination you have, hence the word “custom”. In this particular case he asked LE to spec a cam for stock heads, nothing new or weird about this whatsoever. LE is Lloyd Elliott btw of Lloyd Elliott portworks, it’s a very popular company in the LT1 community.

@@CamaroKevin84 when he says “custom cam” he means he spoke to LE (Lloyd Elliott), they talked about his particular engine combination and what he wants out of the car and Lloyd specd and ground him a custom cam. The cam specs are in the name of the video btw. As for rockers he commented in this comment section that they are 1.6. Not sure why it really matters much, the difference between 1.5 (stock) and 1.6 is so minimal that it’s not even worth mentioning. Worth what, maybe 5 hp??

@@michaelpurnell9526 i know custom means custom. But if the other components are stock, grab a catalog cam. Because unless youre looking at high horsepower applications, nothing needs excessive machining. Just my bullshit opinion. From 20 years of building engines and 13 years as a machinist. Odds are the stock parts will be changed then the custom cam wont match in the future. Needless spending, needless custom work.

ambspier Im rebuilding the bottom end of my LT1 right now. I have a 92 trans am im swapping it into. Just put new cam bearings and a massive cam in it. Finished the wiring harness a few days ago. The heads are stock ported with dual valve springs rated to .700" lift. 1.6 RRs. The works. Its a fairly easy swap tho. Im not to worried about the opti tho. Next spring im doing the Ltcc conversion. Also have the Autoprom to tune the VE tables on my laptop while I drive.

95 to 97 did not have the opti spark issue anymore from what I understand
