Bro I’m so glad to hear “I just want to shoot my primary more” from someone like you. I’ve been playing first person shooters my whole life and the core fundamental gunplay and feel is why I fell in love with this game and more specifically this games pvp. Seems like the esteemed honorable duelist is a dying archetype that I’m determined to fill and keep alive.

Right? I thought I’d hate the special meter system at first, but oh my god, it was so much better. People wasting all their special round 1 and not being able to play well for the next couple rounds because all they’re good for is special jousting was so much better. One shot kills should be *earned,* they shouldn’t be the norm every time I get within a certain range of someone or peek a lane for a quarter second to long. Since I’ve started trying to improve, I’ve held onto this “honorable” mindset where I stay away from cheesy weapons and go for true 1v1s rather than teamshooting, but the more I play the more I realize that the game just isn’t built for that kind of thing when there’s any sort of reward at all.

I'm a primary gamer (Hand cannons are double my closest specials) and I agree. Primary gameplay just feels more skillful, like yeah I can hit a sniper headshot and they're dead but it's much more fun hitting 3 heads with a 140

It's not always your fault. There are many comically easy ways to abuse mobility exotics and simply slide 10 meters to you instantly, then you're dead from another 10 meters away in one hit. The bad players are always the ones crutching special ammo

That grapple -> blink -> tether -> blink -> shotty combo was sick. They completely choked it and any other super besides tether would have given you 3 kills instantly, but that was pretty cool

I wanna improve my primary gameplay and would KILL for a Double Primary playlist. I can't do that with the current state of the game where it's special weapon jousting, snipers who never miss for some reason and ability spam. Some of the best PVP moments I've had as an average player has been with primary gameplay and I wish the game would allow me to engage with primaries more.

I took a long break from PVP. Still not really taking it too seriously, Mayhem, Scorched etc. But when my buddy asked me to run some Trials? Go on then I want a good Iggy... ... JAAAYSUS!!!! 3v3 is supposedly less ability spam, less special ammo shenanigans, higher skill players!? I reverted straight back to my go to loadouts!!! A double primary OR literally a playlist that tells you the map & you get to choose one weapon so you're not going into a long range map with an SMG haha. Would be fun! You, your favourite weapon & I would probably say keep it 3v3 less chaos, more chances for actual primary duels.

Such a shame they changing the energy of Ancient Gospel. Only two Solar HCs in game has swashbuckler. Now it will only be 1 (annual skate). We need more swash solar HCs Bungie, the weighted throwing knife class needs it 😢. Solar matters because of empyrean. U can reprocc radiant from kills to maintain the 2 tap (on 140s).

So this is from a raid? The new one doesn't appear to have Slideshot, at least on foundry it's not in the perk pool. Explosive Payload and EOTS or Rapid hit is what I would want on it. It does have Swash. It has the new Lone Wolf perk, but i'm not sure if that perk is worth it. I couldn't find numbers on the stat increases.

Ancient Gospel doesn't feel good to use for me for some reason, i was using a rapid hit and kill clip roll as well. I used it for a little bit and then put it away and never used it again, so i don't think a good perk combo is gonna do it any justice for me. Something about the weapon just feels off and i feel like it's a bit more inaccurate than other hand cannons.

I was really looking forward to Reckless Oracle, but given they've let it have Destabilising Rounds over Repulser Brace, it's officially useless. Stick to Recluse or the Cassoid AR for any Volatile builds. Edit: Okay, so they haven't said that it won't be available, but it not being a highlight perk still gives me doubts
