@@cammycakesgamingI have the perfect solution for the double melee problem. Instant recovery after getting hit with a non-powered melee. The melee damage can be the same and still require 3 melees from full health.

I miss the Death Donut (Retribution) for similar reasons mentioned about Endless Vale and Distant Shore - unpredictability. There were lanes for any build to work well, but the map design encouraged everyone to keep moving. It's been a while, rose colored glasses and all, but I don't recall matches going to time much on that map. I do remember having fun every time that map came up tho.

controversial take but meltdown is my favourite map, every game without exception i always have fun and there’s angles to play to counter play styles like snipes or shotty apes and the spawns are beautiful for clips

Main complaint with meltdown is that far outside is largely irrelevant, since B and heavy is the same, and outside mid into B is such a noobtrap plus a slog to get through unless the opponents are bad

Can you quantify smiles before and after every special ammo system change? We’ve come full circle to constant special ammo use since Trading Timmy can just pull out his guaranteed 1.0kd off spawn instead of actually earning it with the meter system.

New adaptive heavy gl has reverberation and impulse amplifier in opposite columns. Use proxy nades. After initial kill, 100 Blast radius lets proxy nades kill all resil again for 6 seconds (refreshable)

Just a heads up, I broke Solitude already.... Simple; there's just no sky barrier, which means that you can get on top of the map (storm edge, grapple, ascension) and you can just go anywhere. Yes, the big tower thingies, you can go on top of ALL OF THEM

One of my biggest gripes is concerning invisible walls for balancing aerial engagement angles. I run Lion Rampants with DMT, so I'll often aim for off angles to get an advantageous first shot or a split engagement with a teammate. The issue comes as there's no clear visual indicator where a player collision wall is, or sometimes even an invisible wall that doesn't let bullets pass through. Dissonance and Endless Vale has some of the worst examples of this. I'd MUCH prefer there be actual geometry pieces to cover what the devs don't want accessible, or maybe create some sort of hologram that appears when near an invisible wall? Simply any sort of visual indicator would be a massive quality of life boost. The game has started encouraging more aerial play styles now with Lions, Heat Rises, AE, and all the AE related perks. I like to build into that, but feel punished for doing so when a map isn't clear in what it's intentional angles are supposed to be. The only way to learn is through failure from an attempted new angle, and it's a really frustrating process. (Writing this before watching the video so you may mention this, but thought I'd throw in my thoughts in case any Bungie Devs see this lol)

me personally i have worm haven on s tier allows perfect range for autos and hc to snipe and even pulse and scout it has fun angles that arent as campy due to the flanks being more head to head focused allowing for different engagements in different areas and keeping gameplay feeling fresh. terrible headglitches tho

endless vale is the map I feel like i can carry on because it's a simple epic battle for zone b has 3 (or 5 counting middle as 3) approach options that require minimal patience, has plausible but difficult kill chain extensions into spawns, and has the noob-killing no man's land center

You cant tell me that the endless vale spawns arent absolutely rediculous in 6v6. The map was designed for D1 trials. So its good, but ffs not for 6v6

sojourners can roll discord and harmony, and with radiant it can 1 body (according to d2foundry) with solar, you can use the hunter radiant dodge and the aspect that extends radiant for kill chains do what you will with this info

The worst thing about Beyond Light will always be what it did to the way Destiny 2 is rendered. The game is SO much harder to read visually nowadays while also being genuinely ugly to look at. I don't care what advancements were made at that cost, give me back Armor 1.0 for all I care, just let me see what i'm shooting at.

It’s all about compatibility with game modes, sandbox balancing, and player habits. Disjunction rift is really good for example.

@@cammycakesgaming Cammy I appreciate you going right for the jugular off the bat with "special weapon jousting" because it brings up the larger design problem of how so many of the less favorable Destiny pvp maps have hard angle chokepoints on chokepoints and for 6s and obj games like Control especially, it makes the action play a bit shaky because of how the battle is already solved with not many options to fight back or have meaningful playmaking pay off. There's no point in doing a some 9000 IQ flanking move into a certain area when the only other entry way is a long winded wraparound chokepoint that still has the opposing player at a major defensive position advantage. Multiplex is a massive offender of this because of how there's not really a ton of reasons to play offensive or defensive at A and C as there's not really a ton of room utilized meaningfully(seriously those starting spots are too vast and pointless), so everything gravitates towards the spaces at B, or near it and those tunnels that are again a choke point on a chokepoint, are annoying to play in because you can just run away and wait til somebody messes up not backing down. It's not exciting gameplay basing the entire flow of the match on who screwed up first, and more frequently and there's not really a ton to work with when you're trying to level the score. Obviously this game is very old and a lot of maps are not built for the physical capabilities(literal speed, locomotion, movement tech etc) combined with weapons available and it's often why you can get some low quality games especially in the 2024. Twilight Gap, Exodus Poo made a little more sense at 30 FPS locked and what was possible back then, but now it's just super clunky and unpleasant because of how much we're afforded. It's like being punched in the dark with how claustrophobic those 2 maps are and you can just beeline the same routes and have mindless play.
