Camouflage treatment of Class III malocclusion with anterior crossbite and midline deviation

A 19-year old male sought for treatment to correct anterior crossbite and midline deviation. Further examination determined the diagnosis was a full cusp Class III malocclusion. A camouflage treatment was selected and extraction of UR5, UL5, and LR4, LL5 was indicated. After 20 months of treatment the patient was satisfied with the improved occlusal relationship and esthetic results.
一名19歲的男性患者因為前牙錯咬與中線偏移而前來尋求治療。經診斷後病患為第三類咬合不正。經過分析，治療計畫最終訂定為拔除上顎雙側第二小臼齒，與下排右側第一小臼齒和左側第二小臼齒的不開刀掩飾型治療。經過20個月的治療，病患很滿意大幅改善的咬合關係與美觀的治療結果。

I have a question/ had this problem and had teeth removed- edge to edge vite w ant crossbite. I opted for jaw surgery due to several reasons- now mid forties, had teeth in braces ready for bsso leforte and everyone in my family now wants camo ortho. I was going to one of the best surgeons in Ca (top 3) what do you think? I wanted best underlying results and felt healthy…. But everyone wants me to go backwards and do camp now

A MSE treatment without extractions would have been way more beneficial for the patient, especially seeing that he´s only 19 y of age. You could have achieved skelettal expansion, anterior protraction and autorotation of the maxilla- all these 3 factors would have been beneficial to the treatment´s outcome.

MSE doesn't always work on a 19-year-old. I would've just opted for surgery instead.
