Thanks! I watched your Blackstone and learned of this one. I like the camp chef for the higher temp. I didn't know camp chef made a griddle. Cheers!

How do you use the pellets in the grill to smoke meats

I have so many Camp Chef products my shed looks like a store. Everything they make that I have owned has been great. And if you ever decide to sell, they are super easy to sell because campers know how good and long lasting they are. I should be a rep for them I have so much of their stuff lol

This was great to watch. I had a Yukon model that I converted many years ago to natural gas and it was really a nice compliment to my barbecue. ( I drilled out the jets) I have been looking at blackstone grills for my new RV when I thought I could repurpose the Yukon. That meant getting a set of new gas jets to handle propane fuel. Out comes the barbecue paint and rust remover. Some time and effort and looks like the day I bought it. Here is where I got creative. From past use I knew that levelling the grill was really important in controlling the grease. I was annoyed at getting up and down over and over was too much like work. Therefore I dispensed with the legs and installed newly acquired levellers directly to the Yukon frame. (Yes,they fit). Now, I can set the stove on my table with folding legs (about 4 feet in length) and, I can now level the stove while I am standing in front of my “cooking station”….yup, no bending over. Again, a very informative video. Thank you.

I had my first Fifth Wheel prior to 2013. I outfitted it with a 3 burner 16" stove and grill. In 2013 I down sized to a Lance 1685. 16 foot box on a 20' frame. Didn't have the room for that stove system any more. Downsized to a 14" 2 burner stove, Grill box and Griddle. Grill Box and Griddle were the 1 burner style. Then when I started doing pancake breakfasts for a group I added the 2 burner griddle. I have upgraded back to a 5th wheel and the 2 burner is still perfect. I want for nothing more.... Except the pizza oven. The price on those gives me pause. Maybe I'll find one used one day. First thing I usually do when I pull into my campsite is set up the outdoor kitchen. I go camping to be out side. I have a lightweight folding table that I set up next to the stove to use for prep and serving. Also not a salesman for Campchef.

I often get ideas from things like this, where it is not clear what is needed. Dealers that sell these things either don't know or they want to sell you their overpriced junk they carry in their parts department.

I've been using the 3 burner Camp Chef for several years and love it. Also have the single and 2 burner griddles although the single is used most often. They make an upgraded drip tray for the griddle if you don't have it. It's called the Professional Grease Cup and is a lot better than the thing you hang a tin can with.

I bought a grease cup that was an off brand but looked identical. The ones Camp Chef had were out of stock.

do these camp stoves have a pressure regulator built in the unit ? if so when using the rv's propane port the pressure has all ready been reduced at the tanks. if you go through a 2nd regulator on the unit it self it seems it would reduce propane flow to much. i had this problem with a portable propane fire pit and had to remove the built in regulator in order for it to work with my rv's propane outlet.
@RVProject4 жыл бұрын
The regulator for the Camp Chef stoves are part of the ACME thread adapter that goes on the 20lb tank. When I removed the original hose, I also removed the regulator. The new hose does not have a regulator because, as you said - you don't want to double regulate the propane.

Just last week I hooked up my 17" Blackstone to the rv with a made up hose (do not do!) and quickly realized my tiny flame was the result of going thru two regulators..one on the rv supply and one on the griddle itself. I have a new hose with the Blackstone fitting in my Amazon cart, and an hour later I see this video...perfect timing! Do you think a 15 foot hose is enough? My outlet is in the same position as yours.

I am using a 12ft hose which seems plenty.

I have the 60x works wonderful, just runs hot when using the griddle. For grilling/smoking I actually have a GMG pellet smoker on the rear bunper

A lot of RV'ers opt for the Blackstone griddles, but I don't think many are aware of the flexibility of the Camp Chef units. The Blackstone units are nice too, but I wanted more options.
