Camp fire food when it's cold outside is the best. I still remember you doctoring up Ramen noodles with jersey. I had to take my kids in the woods and make it the next day.

Admittedly, I haven't viewed a D.C. utube for a coupla months. While casually scrolling, THEN eyeing the words, "canterbury; broth; turkey AND dumplings", I said, "Opp! We have a winner!" And, the crackling fire; the mixing; the bubbling & boiling; the "oh, man! & hoe-lee cow!"...is all the music this video needs! Magician makin' edible magic.

I totally enjoy your videos Dave. It’s so great that you never involve politics or anything other than good positive, helpful content. You don’t waste time on anything others are saying or doing, you just do your thing. Plus you turned me onto the dehydrated veggies brother!! Awesome stuff!!

Dave, this is my favorite video of yours to date. Your soup and dumplings looked perfect. As with all your videos, you explained each step so even a weekend warrior can make it. I'm going to the store for a few ingredients and I'll make this myself. Thanks Dave. I'm thankful for you.

I made chicken and dumplings and turkey with dumplings for the first time recently! I don't know what better way to get rid of left turkey than that. I'm not a big turkey fan but chicken and turkey and dumplings are on my menu now for sure! I missed out being from the north, still Ohio but we don't see southern cooking here. Until Bob Evans opened up here I hadn't seen sausage gravy and biscuits anywhere other than McDonald's.

I really need to start taking time every now and then to do this kind of stuff. Spent the last couple of days hunting and was really relaxed until I had to go back to work today. Even if it's just a quick afternoon of building a small fire and cooking over it. Oh, didn't get a deer. No good shots on any.

13:35 I thought bannocks were about the cooking method. Only place I've heard of them before was referencing bread that's cooked stuck to a board leaned up near the fire. The more you know.

Belated happy thanks giving day. I have always been a layer person when dressing , but I have issue with over heating if the weather improves or with some activities. My thermals (when needed) are poly cotton mix, shorts are normally 100% natural fibres as are the majority of my other layers. I'm going to start investing in merino base layers, do you have any other advice on how to reduce sweating, associated dampness / chilling and smells? Thank you for videos, If I were in the States I'd definitely come visit and take your courses. Take care, Mike
