I had a 73' Microbus I used to camp with. Passenger van without the middle bench (custom folding table instead) and the fold down rear bench out of a camper van so I could make a double bed. It kept me dry but the heater/defrost was useless, brakes and handling were awful, downright deadly in a cross wind, and slower than a snail. Even swapping the 1.7 engine for a 2.0 with dual carbs only bumped my top speed on level ground from 69 to 70 mph, with 0-60 in an afternoon.
