In Spain they have linden blossom tea (they call it tila) that's been used as a mild pain (and hangover) reliever for centuries. You can still buy something called 'tila' in typical little tea bags in the supermarkets, but I'm not sure if it's the real thing, I haven't tried it. There's actually a Spanish classic book, of the type you're forced to read in school, called Insolación by Emilia Pardo Bazan, where the main character at one point has a hangover and has tila tea to get rid of the headache.

Arent linden flowers a type of tea? Wouldn't people be smoking the tea if it really worked? Also some extensive google searching has found nothing to support the idea that linden flowers/inner bark get you high. I think at most it's orally active. And is thus mainly used as a tea. Never heard of people smoking it. Got a big ass box of it because I like it in tea. You telling me I could hypothetically smoke that? Or is the kind in nature different?

I found this; www.drugs.com/npp/linden.html Quote: Folk medicine has employed linden as an antispasmodic. 2 Animal studies in vitro using rat duodenum have supported this claim. The activity was inhibited by atropine and papaverine and increased by acetylcholine. The antispasmodic properties are attributed to p -coumaric acids and flavonoids in the plant.
