Hi Dan and Mazzy, loving the scenic views of Campbeltown. I wouldn’t mind waking up to the view you had in the morning.I live inland, so don’t get a sea view. I love coastal places and visit them, when I can . Itv was good that you got better weather for this one. The old Scottish name for a curlew is a whaup! Black Sheep is a nice drink, I have enjoyed a few times. I did know if I would fancy beef dripping on bread ,Dan! I like how you two always check out the local property prices. Campbeltown would be a nice town to stay in, from what you have showed in this video. You two lovely people are honorary Scots, in my opinion. You are always welcome in our country. They introduced licensing for air guns some time ago. I used to have a couple of air rifles years ago, when they didn’t need a licence. It’s because these guns are dangerous in the wrong hands and there have been cases of people getting shot with them. I enjoy seeing you tasting some of the Scottish products you buy on your travels.I love cheese and you had my mouth watering ! Cheese with a twist of malt whisky sounds very tempting.Seaweed is used for all different things, in Scotland, including the making of liquid hand soap. I loved your explore of Campbeltown and will keep following you as you continue your travels 🖐

Hi 🙋🏼♀️ Local to Campbeltown here. It is Beautiful! It’s great in June and through the summer! If ever considering a move to somewhere like here it’s essential you visit in the winter cause it’s a completely different place! We have the midnight sun in the spring and summer but 5 1/2 hours of daylight in the winter! It’s like a ghost town at times. So visit in June and experience the best of it!

You are both right with Dripping you can do roast potatoes in Dripping and there is nothing like beef dripping on toast but it should be the dripping from a large beef joint and then when it sets then you should have it on fresh bread or toast and you want to get some of the jelly from the bottom of the dripping then spread it on fresh bread the put plenty of salt on it. It’s not that many years ago when London pubs served dripping on door stops of fresh bread it was about £1 per slice

I could be wrong but expect they were able to open a cinema in Campbeltown before Edinburgh or Glasgow because of how affluent a place it was due to the whisky boom at the end of the Victorian era coinciding with the dawn of cinema. It all went to pot in Campbeltown as world war 1 hit and the Johnnie Walkers of the world started sourcing whiskies from Speyside as they were less remote and cheaper to produce. 30+ distilleries quickly became 2 (Springbank and Glen Scotia,) who toughed it out for 80 years until Glengyle was reopened in 2004. Rough history.

When you cook a joint of beef you get the fat from the meat and also the juices....if you let it set it settles with the juices setting in jelly form and the fat sits on top. You would spread that (set meat jelly and fat) on your bread. The beef dripping sold in the butchers is just the fat without the meat jelly. It's perfect for roasting potatoes...similar to goose fat.

Loved the taste session! Laughed at the ‘heritage’ centre, tried to rewind the clip to quote Mazzy but couldn’t find it. Are the shop fronts doing a Halloween theme competition for best frontage? Beautiful view from the van. Safe travels to Mull of Kintyre 🎼
