Check out tropic reservoir, and past that there are dispersed camping areas. It's hot here, so dress and pack appropriately.✌️🇺🇸

If you want a good base camp between Zion and Bryce, look at the Mt Carmel Jct area. Couple decent dispersed areas. We stayed at Old Hwy 89 for a week. There are several really cool spots there.

Thank you for giving my home the justice it deserves. I have been all over the world, but something about Utah keeps calling me home. I'm 30 minutes away from the greatest slopes on earth. 40 minutes in the other direction is desert filled with endless atv trails, shooting ranges, rock hounding. I love it here! P.S. Calf Creek Falls (upper & lower) is one of my personal favorites. Escalante is another great area. Honestly, the list is endless. As long as I've lived here, and I still haven't seen all it has to offer.

Hate to break it to you, but most of these areas are almost always packed. Thanks to videos like this everyone and their dog wants to go and they all end up there at the same time. I'm from Utah and have camped at most of these places, and over the past decade they get more crowded every time I go. It's almost not even worth going to some of them anymore. Willow Springs road used to be fantastic, but now if you can find a spot you'll be surrounded by campers and generators and off leash dogs, and half the rocks have poop under them.

You have Willow Springs Rd on the list. Unfortunately that area is in the process of being completely developed into Utahraptor State Park. Willow Springs was always one of the best, most popular and convenient dispersed camping areas in Moab. Now other, smaller areas will have to take that load. Not sure where I’ll end up next time out there as Willow was my go to....

So I’m super brand new to all of this. Videos like this is giving me insight into this endeavor. I said to myself my next adventure trip I want to rent a camper van and just camp somewhere in the van. Having never done this before, how safe is it when you are in a super remote location and it’s just you and the dark sky? Is it better to be around other campers for someone like myself that has never done any camping? I think during the day I would be fine with being alone but not so sure about night time lol.

4 times a year I fly to a destination by myself, rent a large suv and buy a 30$ air mattress fro. Walmart, then head out into the wilderness and camp in the suv. It's amazing g and I've always felt safe, if there's no one around there's no one to bother you. Just do it!

❤❤❤Just a reminder, the sun and moon are both at the same altitude regardless of where you see them near dawn or dusk. They do not set nor rise, because they are on a circuit only 3000 miles above sea level, depending on the angle of them on the US government website, Naval Observatory. These ARE why, the heat of the sun is positive while the shadow of the moon is negative. They're both ONLY thirty miles in diameter. When I wrote this comment, the sun was at 3107 miles up❤❤❤

No, he is not correct. In the video he mis-pronounce’s it. Think about the word Lion and also onion. We Do Not pronounce ion words that begin with a consonant like that in the English Language. Besides, listen to Australians or English people. They also don’t pronounce the word Zion the same way the guy did in the video. He was misinformed. Let’s not lead more people astray. You pronounce Zion just the same way you pronounce Lion.

Bring a small shovel and select a spot away from any water source, road or parking area. Dig a deep hole (do not hide it under a rock) and pack out your used paper in a small sealable bag. Use the provided toilets in actual dispersed camp areas. There is a reason that so many boondocking areas are now pay areas.
