But you have an absolutely first class installation and the inspector has signed it off with your certificate of Conformity, which when you consider the money invested in that whole outfit is the only sensible option, loads of power, loads of charging, with an absolute impeccable install, GERMAN standard😉😉, just what you need for those Italian coffee machines 😜😜 Fantastic

I’ve just watched a clever German explain the complexity of that installation, most of it went over my head but I still enjoyed it. So, when you unbox a toaster or a kettle I can understand that and how that makes you feel when you think about how all these items are going to be used on your trips. It’s your channel Andrew and I would like to think most viewers/subscribers watch because you do the things you do. I for one have no complaints Good luck

That wiring job is A+ , pretty much like and better than an industrial piece of equipment. One thought that comes to mind is why not hide all that controllers and batteries with a panel so you can have a bit of storage/ keep electronics safe from elements when you open the right side of the camper, I cant imagine you having to mess around with the wiring often

So Andrew, if you lose the alternator and the ability to charge the vehicle battery, have you considered a feedback loop to allow you to plug those 400 Amps of stored power back into the vehicles operating system? With no alternator your vehicle will eventually draw down the crank battery (and auxiliary) until you are dead in the water, probably only after several hours of running, even less of operating lights etc. With the additional power flowing back, you could continue to drive for a considerable time then wait and charge the batteries using solar to continue on again. A useful level of redundancy that I've employed in my 79 series build. A necessity for the very remote outback stuff. Cheers Mick

Several people have commented about the complexity because of the electronics. Electrics mainly fail for a few reasons: low quality parts, poor installation, and heat. A well designed system that is put together well will have few problems. I can tell by the how this is installed that it is unlikely to fail and if it does it will be easy to troubleshoot by anyone with any knowledge of electrics. The most complex part of this would be the RedArc manager 30 and those have such a good reputation (not a low quality part) that I would no be worried about it. Sure manufacturing defects occur, but manufacturing defects will usually show up within 30-60 days and with electronics manufacturing defects will usually show up within the first few times they are powered up, if not the first time. Software is a different issue and can showup seemingly randomly. Sometimes cycling the power (turning it off the back on) will reset the system and get the software going again. Sometimes it won't. Sometimes you may need to turn it off for 10, 20, 30 or 60 minutes to give the electronics time to fully power down because there may be capacitors that are still holding a charge. However, some capacitors can hold a charge for very long times, like months. With a new build, plan ahead and do a weekend shakedown run at least 30-60 days prior to a long trip. The shakedown run is to find any major problems and the 30-60 days is to allow time for parts and repair. If the electrics seem too complex to fix that is on you. We have the internet today. Educate yourself and take the knowledge out on the trail with you.

It's getting close now. Beautiful job by the auto electric guys. I can't help but repeat my thoughts on the rear tray causing the camper to sit too high and too far backward. Imagine the beautiful stream lined look if the camper was lower and further forward. All caused by that roll bar. See how it goes. Great job Andrew. Marty from Perth

Great work - never mind the boxing comment - your vehicle is over and above perfect and since it is your work it should be since it has to be the showcase of what is possible. The practicality and usefulness as well as how much one can get out of the money spend - an interesting question and possibly worth an other video - is to be seen in the future. Until then good luck with your vehicle

With regards to the 220-240 volt installation, I'm not really certain if it's a little different from state to state. The canopy installation is more akin to a caravan installation rather than a static home installation and subject to different requirements and being a plug in device it is actually regarded as an appliance under the Australian Standards, so not really certain what type of compliance certificate is required, certainly won't be the standard building one but a caravan one if it's a requirement. In which case I hope flexible multi-strand cabling was used to combat vibrations along with double pole switching for all you power points and lights etc.... It's kinda funny seeing trunking being used to hide/protect the cables but I suppose if it's used in locomotives where it's subjected to vigorous vibrations and the like, it will perform well in that environment too. I am currently doing a similar setup with a canopy and camp king industries roof top tent as two separate pieces. I don't think I really want to install 240 volt into it though, but am still undecided whether to go for 12v or 24v solar system for the fridge. Really look forward to seeing more of the build.
