hey everyone, in this video i'm insulating the floor and cutting out the ply lining to cover it. I cover a bit about some of the insulation I use and a little about heat loss and the benefit of insulation

Does that insulation work with our climate with condensation?

Bob, the entire van will get internally wrapped in a foil based 7 layer insulation as a final vapour barrier, it stops any moisture coming in contact with cold metal parts of the van, otherwise the warm moist air hitting a cold spot would result in condensation. Condensation is water. Water + metal=tinworm(rust to yis younger folk). Should have been in the video but now you have me wondering did I leave it out in the edits.

I guess in rebel English "ply" is plywood? It almost looks like wood laminate so must be some top quality plywood?

Shane, we refer to wood laminate as plywood, many thin layer of wood set are alternating layers 90° to each other. It's very strong but it can resist a certain amount of bending.The stuff I'm using isn't high quality like marine ply(waterproof) or hardwood faced ply(the top layer is usually oak or other hardwood).
