Campground site review of Saint Mary Campground -Glacier National Park

Thank you for this video! My husband and I are planning a trip, in June to Glacier, and I haven't been able to find any comprehensive videos/information on St Mary's campground. This was VERY helpful!

I’m glad it was helpful. I struggled as well to find info. East side of the park is awesome. I highly recommend Many Glacier as well to camp at if you get a chance. Smaller campground but it’s next to a lot of hiking, lodge, etc…. Watch when reservations open up for the summer and book the first day if you can. Sites go fast. Best of luck. Outstanding video my friend! Exactly what I was looking for as I'm prepping for a trip this fall. Definitely want either B or C loop for Gen and a spot that will fit a 27' TT, see a few in there. Was going to try for Many Glacier but sadly the access road says it is closed to camper traffic for year 2025.

Thanks for the feedback and comment. I’m glad it was helpful. I use it myself to book future trips. Yes, Many Glacier is closed this year. Loop C is my favorite by the way. I’d look for a site on the right side so your door opens to the views and away from the road. Enjoy. I’m going back this year myself. 👍👍👍

Excellent. I’m glad it was helpful. I struggled myself to know what the sites look like when booking so put this together. Looks like recreation.gov is not taking reservations until January as well this year, in case you are trying to book in the coming days. Good luck.

Yes, looks like reservations beginning 1/7. I am 1/2 way through your Many Glacier video and may try for that campground instead based on your recommendation. Most of what we would like to do is on the East side of the park. Do you know if Many Glacier can be reserved 6 months out? Thank you.

@user-jp9tt5lc3e yes. Many Glacier is the same thing as St Mary when it comes to booking. It appears to be on Jan 7th as well this year. It’s my favorite campground in the park if you like hiking. Tons of great trails and wildlife. Smaller campground but next to Swift current lodge where you can get food if you want. It’s typically much more difficult to get a site book at Many Glacier. Thank you so much for your videos, they are very helpful. We are planning a trip to Glacier NP in August. Last year we stayed at Apgar Campground, this year we are planning on staying on the east side. Would you recommend St. Mary or Many Glacier campground. We have a small travel trailer so size is not a problem.

Many Glacier is the best in my opinion. Swiftcurrent lodge is next to it, the main lodge at Many, boat rides, kayaking and is at the base of a lot of hiking trails. It is much more difficult to get reservations though. Best of luck. East Glacier is awesome in either campground. Thanks for watching.

I'm leaving the gas guzzler at home and taking Amtrak. Trying to find out if/how to make a reservation at a camper/backpacker site. I've been twice before but it's all so different now.

Interesting. Amtrak. Where does that drop you off? Do you Uber into the park? Campsites are on recreation.gov. Not sure about backpacker sites. I know with other parks they are also reserved on recreation.gov. I’ve not backpacked Glacier yet.
