I have an aluminum framed square drop, and it came with carpeted walls and ceiling. When I first looked at it, I thought it wasn't as attractive as wood walls, but after using it a year, I love the carpet. The walls are not cold (the 20s is the coldest I have been out in), and I don't have condensation problems at all. I can hang things on the wall with velcro, which I also love. What is the same is that the door squeaks exactly the same way.

We love the cool walls in summer, but we think we will try the carpet for this next winter. We may try to attach it with velcro so we can remove it in the summer and have the best of both worlds, lol! Thanks for sharing your experience!

@@HEKNBAK I might try a heavy tweed or such material on the walls

@@tedjones112 That could work! It wouldn't take much - just something to prevent touching it. It obviously isn't too big of an issue since we still haven't done anything about it, lol!

I think 3 in 1 oil or even bicycle chain lube should work on ur door squeak.
@HEKNBAK
@HEKNBAK 5 ай бұрын
Thanks for the suggestions! We tried 3 in 1 and it worked for a few weeks. Haven't tried chain lube though - maybe we will try that next time? I think it's more a problem when we're having lots of rain, which would make sense I guess, lol!

Naturally, my bike chain needs lubed regularly; especially after I wash it! The original family-owned Coleman Company recommended 3-in-1 oil for their camping equipment. 🤷‍♀️

Just the video I was waiting for! So happy to find that is just minor things that could get improved. Being a Baja resident dust around here in the desert is the most common thing to find, so I think that would be a constraint for sure - I've seen some latches that has a screws to preasure the doors (very used in Australia), it's just a matter to see if those could be addapted to this trailer somehow. Thank you for sharing it guys!

Great! We are really interested to see going forward if this was just the way we had loaded - we've added some extra gear, so are trying to find the right place for it - or if it was how fine the dust was. That could be a solution. We will keep you posted!

Thanks for sharing that! We will look it up. It is on the pricier end, but we felt like design, materials and environmental focus were worth it. We do know a few people who own Runaways and like you said, they have a very good price point!

Hi from NZ. Love your camper. I gave up on buying a teardrop and had a camper made by an engineering firm for me. No pop up or canvas but enough room for two fold down seats plus you can take your boots off and get dressed inside like yours. I have used some self adhesive carpet tiles (300mm2) to insulate the walls from cold touch, looks nicer as well and very cost effective. I also have a small portable diesel heater which sits outside but heats quickly and has a remote. I prefer it outside so no combustion going on inside plus in summer I can just leave it behind. Try experimenting with additional dust seals, I have tweaked mine from new and doubled them up so no dust ingress. Happy camping.

HI NZ! Thanks for watching and sharing! I love the carpet tile idea - Hadn't though of that. We were thinking carpet of some sort or even a yoga mat type foam, but carpet tiles would be so easy! We talked to Campinawe about the seal and turns out it was just that the latch needed an adjustment, so that is doing well now. We've had it a year now and still really happy with it. It is just enough, lol!

Thank you! We actually talked to Campinawe about it and turns out it was just an adjustment that needed to be made to the latch. Since then, no problems at all! They have been great to work with!
