Wow! She's my hero! I now am going to sell our 2+ acres and live in an RV. My husband just passed last week. We were both planning on living this way. So now I will have to do this on my own. I'm glad she spoke of security. Wow! 38 years on the road. That's amazing. I'm 67. Pretty strong willed person. Been a bus/charter driver for years so I'm used to the larger buses. But I think I want to go with no more than 25 feet. That and my 6 cats.

This lady has a great rig here. I've not given truck campers, let alone pop up truck campers much thought... Until now. Many points that truly caught my attention: the shower/bathroom plan, the 360° view (I'm a sucker for windows), accessibility to offgrid locations via truck, the height when "popped" and her take and experience in security. Thanks to this woman for giving us a glimpse of her life and her long experiences on the road, then and now. And thank you Bob for the video. I certainly found this information very helpful.

Bob, another great interview and tour. Thank you Bob and Charlotte. I agree with Charlotte that you don't need a lot of space. Most people usually use only their bed, kitchen table, toilet and kitchen. A lot of space in houses and apartments are left unused. I did wonder what Charlotte's solution was for "appropriate measures." The one safety concern I would have would be that one has to exit the pop up to enter the truck to drive away.

Also a full-time, senior, female, solo nomad in a truck camper. Love, love, love it. Mine is an older Lance with a dry bath. The older models have much more storage than the new ones. My fridge is huge with a separate freezer. Runs on electric, propane, or battery. Bought it for my late husband and I to travel in so it's pretty spacious for just me, my pup, and senior cat. I sacrificed a clothes closet for a custom made small wood stove. Best change ever!!! Got rid of the microwave -- never used it. Generator was too heavy and loud so it's gone too. I'm adding solar motion lights but sounds like this lady has something a bit more sophisticated. Would love to know more. I can easily climb onto my roof from inside to see what people are doing around my campsite if necessary. I can also climb through a camper window directly into the back seat of my truck if it becomes necessary to drive away. Did have an incident where two guys where on my back ladder. Scared them off in a hot second and then had the ladder removed. I urge everyone to be prepared and don't advertise your choices of protection. I'm 72 and people always ask if I'm a vet. Sometimes the way you look at people and carry yourself is enough to keep trouble at bay.

@@BillyLintzenich-wf7sk Renting various types of RVs is a good way to try them out before committing to a specific type. I prefer having my camper on top of my truck rather than pulling a trailer. There are also Class C RVs that are one unit. These seem very popular because you don't have to have a truck large enough to pull or carry your RV. Good luck finding the perfect match for you. 😃

Awesome! I love her positive attitude too. Through the years I’ve learned to go less and less. I had a 1,200 square feet condo by the beach, moved to the mountains to a 960 sqr, got a place to retire in Baja that’s a 30’ trailer exclusively on solar which was my big realization I don’t need much indoor space. Now I’m selling my house in California, getting a van and going camping for straight 4 months coming back to my trailer the rest of the year. I’m realizing the open space is my thing when I see how super friendly and down to earth these people are I want to be part of nomadic society. Who knows maybe I’ll do the Van life much longer since my place in Baja is off the grid it costs me nearly nothing when I’m not there and I’m retired. I just got my solar panels and power station, a few other things little by little getting ready to pull the plug. Thanks so much for such great advice, you guys rock!

I would like to add an FYI for all you nomads who don’t know how they’re going to make money on the road… I can assure you, choose a city you’d like to stop and walk into the busiest restaurant ask them if they would like a dishwasher for at least two weeks, 90% of the time they’re going to say yes, and if they say no you move onto the next restaurant somebody will say yes. You work two weeks you have enough money to last you for months, really there’s all kinds of odds and end jobs you can do. Car washes are also GREAT to get temp work.

I admire all this ladys to take the risk to start over, i as a younger woman don't think i have the courage to do it. Also i see a lot of true in her comment that when you live in a normal home you tend to stay still and maybe isolate, this proves how important are the social connections for mental health. Greetings from Colombia 🇨🇴.

As a neophyte nomad, my hat is OFF to this young lady. Much respect due. Anyone that's lived nomadically for that long has such a wealth of experience at it that you can't help but be drawn to them. Really, really nice rig. She may have me sold on a truck w/pop-up too. 😀

I loved my palomino pop up camper but the one thing they are not is a big thing for full timers.. they really are only 3 season campers. Love my hard side for 4 seasons.

Love the rig it looks like it would fit everything I need to make a little home on wheels. I wish you could have shown the truck. I’m not good at guessing what size it is but I have an idea that it’s on the larger size. Security is critical for everyone. Safe travels 👍

Looking at it I was surprised by the way it is inside. Not bad at all, not my cup of tea but can understand why you like it...I'm old, 69yr. and single, too. and actually a loner at heart, too. but i like staying in one place and taking trips by my self but having a home to come home to. I'm in a place called Noah in North Carolina for older people on low to fixed incomes and it is a really nice , clean, safe place to live, one bed, full bath, living room a a little dining area. laundry facilities on each of the 3 floors. Good luck to you! May God keep you safe!
