More chaos for you guys. Took Digs to explore beautiful Minnesota for the weekend and even found a junkyard! Still no caterpillars, but I’m always looking. Instagram: junkyardmook

Me and a buddy were in a junkyard down in Texas once, they had goats turned out in there to keep the weeds down. As we turned down the second row of cars there were about 15 goats, I turned to say something to my buddy and he was gone. I looked the other way and there he was on the roof of a truck. I haven't laughed that hard in a minute; I told him, they aren't attack goats. What a g0Of!
@Quacks02 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I know da feeling. Actually, though, goats are generally fairly friendly, and so many times they will let you pet them. Just be careful not to turn your back on them and then bend over wif yer butt forming a "tempting target", 'cuz as we all know, a goat's milk is very good, and so it make da best BUTTER in America! :P

Yeah, this is one of my all-time favorite videos of the "Junkyard Pair" (i.e., Digs and Mook) series :D P.S. Two of my other favorites are the first of these two "camping adVANture" videos (this is the second one): kzbin.info/www/bejne/eJe8qH2tqsqkhsk, and the first limo-revival video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eJe8qH2tqsqkhsk... check out the hilarious clip at around 28:56, where Mook waddles stiffly along with a long tall skinny box pulled down over her head ("Who ordered a box of Mook?" queries one of the commenters. :D )

Whenever I go to a classic/vintage/antique junkyard I feel so honored just to be there; to see and touch vehicles that once roamed around. Some were loved, some weren't, some worked hard, some still have life, some give life to other old cars, and some had a fatal ending. At one point each of these cars were new. But as time goes on, so do people. Many of these cars, just like their owners, will return to the earth where they came from. Visiting these junkyards gives me a feeling that nothing else can.

Just in case anybody else was wondering about the barge in this video it's pretty interesting! The Joseph L. Block is powered by 2 General Motors EMD 20-645-E7 two stroke cycle; single acting, V-20 cylinder 3,600 b.h.p. diesel engines burning marine diesel oil; the power being fed to a single controllable pitch propeller. The vessel is equipped with both bow and stern thrusters. Seven holds being loaded through 24 hatches are capable of carrying 37,200 tons at a mid-summer draft of 30’11”. The vessel's self unloading equipment consists of a conveyor belt system feeding a loop belt elevator to a stern-mounted 250' discharge boom and has an unloading rate of up to 6,000 tons per hour.

My wife, (who reminds me so much of you, Mook - about 30 years ago!) and I went on several trips to northern Minnesota. Very familiar with North Shore Blvd (Hwy. 61), Baptism River, Gooseberry Falls, Sawbill Trail at Tofte, Grand Marais and then there's Burntside Lodge on Burntside Lake in Ely! That place is AWESOME! We stayed a week there. We live in Northeast Iowa east of Mason City in the country and like you, we love our old Ford truck and we also have a 2000 Ford Taurus for our 'nice' car that we bought new in 2000. Today, she only has 65k miles on it and looks like the day we bought it! Anyway, new subscriber here. I'm going to show my wife this video. I bet she can see the similarity! Hint: It's your smile and your gregarious personality! She's a lot more reserved these days as 'life' dealt her a brain injury in 2001, but she's still very much the woman I fell in love with and we're retired now. We just bought an old Grumman Sport Boat and I'm in the process of restoring it and the trailer to new condition, then we hope to take it behind the Taurus up to Burntside Lake one last time! Take care!

Hi Mook! I'm a former Duluthian, now in Kansas. I grew up scouring Chesney's junkyard north of town. I was thinking that in your junkyard expeditions if you could just glance at the VIN on any full size Jeeps and let us know if you find any with a Z. That's the big 401 and all of us AMC and Jeep folks would like to save them from the crusher. And it would give you some fun hunting for them. Thanks for the videos!

@89ludeawakening14 жыл бұрын
@@alan6832 you are right and wrong. That definitely wasn't a barge, it was a self discharging bulk carrier. But not all barges are towed or pushed. Damn, she reminds me of my daughter so much. Lacey (my daughter) was raised fixing engines. I think she can compete with an ASC certified mechanic because of her love and enthusiasm toward working on cars and trucks. She is so into it. She will pull the engine, tear the engine down and put it back together in 2 days. She reinstalls the engine in and has it running and on the road in less then 3 days. She is remarkable. Don't ever doubt a female in anything they do. However, Lacey and I don't agree on everything. Don't know how it happened but the love of my life hates Ford and loves Chevy. Her brother, grandad and entire family have been Ford fanatics. Where did this annoying defect come from? We will argue and argue about Ford and Chevy until we are both blue in the face. It's all good though. As long as she never loses that enthusiasm, I am one happy dad. By the way, my little girl is turning 30 in February and besides being gorgeous, she has guys after her all the time. It was surprising to me how many guys love having a girl that doesn't mind having grease under her nails or smeared oil on her face. It's amazing. I love you Lacey.
@atmosrepair3 жыл бұрын
You should probably trust her that Chevy are better if she is rebuilding them lol. I used to be a Ford truck man, but now I have a chevy Tahoe, and it has stolen my heart. They make em so the owner is able to work on them, for example replacing fuel filter on ford requires special tool for the special gas line fittings, etc.. Chevy nope just a wrench and boom. The 99 tahoe gives me space to replace spark plugs without removing anything. I have had a 1986 Ranger, 1998 Ranger, a 1999 F150, and a 2005 Ranger. Now driving the 1999 Tahoe.

Curt's Clocks, It's ok. If you like to spend your free time fixing GM's engineering defects, buy a Chevy. If you need a reliable car or truck, buy a Ford. Lol. Just kidding. All manufacturers have there problem child's. I love my daughter and trust her opinions and likes. I come from a long line of Ford lovers but I have owned my share of Chevy and I have grown to like General Motors at times.
