yeah man, just had one beautiful sunny day and now raining again. The rain just never seems to stop this year. It's really getting in the way of fishing, haha

Cool vid guys!! Haha the slammers are definitely better for topwater that's for sure. You can buy (or I bet you can Make) a tension release that holds the line and clips onto the rod so you can keep the bail arm off for high drag reels And that smoked kahawai and asparagus looked amazing 😍🤤

Thanks man :) Yeah I just came back from a bit of stick baiting with the slammer and that worked pretty good. Unfortunately missed that big kingie that was cruising around the rocks :( I bought the reel to replace my Daiwa Big Game because of the water proofing, so that I can take it on the kayak and use it for pretty much anything. Top drag is great, but the crappy low drag is a real pain. I believe they fixed that in the new slammer 4. Yeah a tension release could be a good option for live baiting.

Get a Alvey you'll never have to buy another reel. I've had my fibreglass model for 40yrs. You should of had your kayak out there.

haha, yeah I keep hearing that. I'll probably have to get an Alvey at some stage :) Looks like a good spot for kayaking, eh.
