I am particularly impressed with your very high standards of workmanship throughout the build! It's been a delight to see the care with which you work, everything's done beautifully, very professional! One couldn't buy an outfitted 5 x 8 trailer for $11,000 that comes anywhere near the quality of The Chuck Box, it's simply not possible. Your outstanding Travel Cabin will accompany you for many kilometres and years, making memories, all the while providing you a really lovely home wherever you're parked. Thank you for sharing this great build and for introducing me to Catch Covers, something I'd never seen before. Subscribed.

Great job on the cargo conversion! Try and build upside down fire next time your out. I use to build fires the traditional way prior to trying the upside down technique. Time saver for sure, and now I use it in the woodstove as well. Thank you for sharing your moose hunt as well!!!

Turned out great. I’ve watched a lot of yours and other cargo conversion build videos and they are super helpful. Maybe make a video about what you’d do differently if you were to do it again ... if anything.

You did such a wonderful job on your build. Very thought out and I thought making the wheels and tires the same as your truck was brilliant. I love the wifey/hubby Yeti mugs for your chianti lol... at least you weren't having fava beans, too, lol. Thanks for sharing; it was a lot of fun to watch and great ideas!

That's actually good price considering that includes purchasing the trailer. My total cost of 2015 7x14 cargo trailer camper conversion is $11,525 which includes the trailer, licensing and so forth. What killed me was the labor. OMG. out here in CA everything cost a fortune. I wish I was more handy and would save so much.

Yeah everything is priced out of wack currently.... Interesting times. Thank you! I do think I did okay with what my budget was!

This is great, realistic, and still way less than one of those small campers and will last wayyyyy longer, great job! Gave me a lot of ideas to work on the inside of our trailer, which already has insulation and doors/windows but needs a roof fan and the interior bed & nose-table plus storage, it's more challenging to get a bed and work space in a shorter trailer but I like your layout.
@JoelTremblayCA3 жыл бұрын
Yes exactly, I hope it will last a long time. The vent was one of the best modifications, in the summer it pulls all the stale air out, keeping the space comfortable. Thank you for watching. Good luck with your build!

Very impressive, I am planning to do the same conversion, but still deciding on either I need a side door or not on this type of trailer, any thoughts ?
@JoelTremblayCA3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Originally, I wanted a trailer with a side door but couldn't find a trailer with a side door within my budget. That being said, if I had a side door the current bed design would not work. Depends on your needs and wants, for me a side door wasn't nessesary.

Hey man, awesome video! Just wondering if there is like a trailer insurance for this kind of stuff?
@JoelTremblayCA3 жыл бұрын
Great question! I've been calling around to different companies trying to figure out the best policy. Right now I have the trailer insured for its value as a utility trailer. Insurance companies don't like modified stuff!

Those ready made trailers ain't that great. This way he did it exactly the way he wanted it. I've doing a 5x8 trailer project myself but all I did was toss in a La-Z-Boy recliner and diesel heater. Put a used solar panel on the roof and called it done. I'm still futzing around but I don't have the patience or skill to do what Joel did here. I wish I did because this is really great.
