In this video I spend a few days riding around in western Arkansas Quachita National Forest on my 2019 Triumph Tiger 800XCx. I discover an awesome ride over the Skyline Drive from Mena Arkansas to Talihina Oklahoma as well as some beautiful national Forest roads.

I remember Story in the late 80's when it was two convenient stores and a little post office in the back. We had a place about six miles east of there. Love that area and hope to make it back someday.

Thanks for the great trip report. I'm making my first trip to the Ozarks on Sunday on a Ninja1000sx for a week of camping and biking. The ride out of Mena along the ridge is on my list!

Have done that road many times. Thanks for sharing. I live in NWA in Bella Vista. We should plan some exploration together. Ride safe and stay cool.

There are times in the Fall when you can ride this trail and see all the high points for 50 miles or more. Late October into Mid-November is really nice. However, this road gets icy in the Winter when the valley below will still be quite warm. Oh, and this ridge and on top of Mt. Magazine are great places for seeing Rattlesnakes and Tarantulas. They love these dry rocky ridges.

Enjoyable video Jon! You've taken me places on this one, as you usually do, that I've never been before. I especially liked the old bridge and the creek views from it. Makes me want to take a trip back to Missouri / Arkansas. Keep up the great work!

@@ozarksbackroads5484 Doing well Jon, hope you are too. I'm only working my regular M-F right now, still no cell service so work (or anyone else, for that matter) can't get in touch with me. Something about my phone (3G) not compatable with the new 5G. PP customer service from AT&T, guess I'm going to have to go elsewhere. Any suggestions?

@@richardlewis9947 LOL... well it might be time for a phone manufactured in the 21st century... carriers are dropping 3G service... no longer relevant... Glad you are not working crazy hours all summer. Its been too hot to get out much over here the past month or so. I have been staying home and working way too much for my taste... :)

You are literally in my backyard! I live just north of Story in Danville. If you get the chance check out little Missouri falls. It’s around the town of Big Fork between Mena and Hot Springs.

Hello there sir... good to hear from you. No, I sold my FJR last summer and still have not come up with a replacement long haul tourer... I hope to alleviate that situation soon however.... thanks for watching... keep safe out there... :)

Greetings from England. I like to watch your FJR adventures as I ride one myself. Was it the gearbox recall on the FJR that persuaded you to sell it

@@christopherday1498 Hey there Chris, yes I wound up selling my last FJR to the dealer that was going to do the recall work. After waiting 4 months for the parts to show up I was ready to move on... the dealer waited another 3 months for the service kit to arrive after he bought my bike.... Thanks for watching ... keep safe out there... :)

How long have you owned the Tiger? Compared to any others you've own or, how would you compare?

Hello there, good to hear from you. I bought my Tiger in the early summer of 2019 so I am on my 4th season with it. The Tiger is by far and away the most high end off road capable bike I have ever owned. It is absolutely awesome on road and off. The engine is a real treat on this bike. 2019 was the last year of the 800cc engine before they went to the 900cc cross plane engine in 2020. The 800 is extremely smooth and makes good power from down low right on to red line. My bike has the WP suspension on front and rear which really shines riding off road. All in all the Tiger is a very nice machine that is easy to live with. I have had no issues with my bike whatsoever and I probably will buy another Tiger some day. Thanks for watching sir and keep safe out there... :)
