I jump in out trusty old VW T4 Campervan to dip our toe into van life.
I tested out the Funflix G1 projector and it worked a treat.

Fort Victoria is a great spot and will be missed
The Isle of Wight is a great place to visit and the Park4night app worked well.

I car camped on the island last year and stayed at the Fort for the first night and the last night. I saw that all the other car parks said no sleeping in vehicles. Over the eight days I parked on the roadside, near the places I wanted to visit.

I spent a few nights there on my first campervan adventure. Caught a bass fromm the shore and cooked it up behind the cannon. Didnt want to cook fisk in the van as it was rented.

I think due to the popularity of "Van Life" many of the old park ups are feeling the strain - it only takes one or two idiots to ruin a good spot. Many of the carparks and laybys are being restricted for overnight sleeping up here due to issues with campervans.

It's a shame that they are clamping down on the wild camping, Fort Vic is a fab place too. I loved seeing the bridge at Yarmouth, we have rarely seen it open and have never been at the very front of the queue when it happens, so that was good to see, thanks. Never been to the IOW. Gone past it sailing out of Southampton on a cruise, but never stepped on the island itself, which is something I really must do with er indoors sometime. Great laughs on this one as usual. But the breakfast fiasco was a proper liberty😂

carefull there Nobby, police station still there by harbour masters office. another quallity watch, and yes i rember the 12yr old lee with his bright orange crab line off the pier, memorys mate ) .Shame to see the old lad still square wheeled in the corner after many years , but that place has been a life saver for me at times, and many others, it is more than a shame, it is nasty rich pen pushing, box ticking, dumb ass clipboards inforcing there tyranny , but it is also a shame some have over abused the place in recent years, but that only goes to show the housing problem , and lack of facilities for the van lifers on the island . i best stop my rant eh )

I reckon sea pigeon was probably worse than that meal. I would suspect the council have been lobbied to stop camping in that carpark, our rights are slowly being obliterated a piece at a time. It wont be long before camping in your own garden is banned at this rate.

It is wrong Si, but a 40ft RV with generator running is a bit of a p155 take it there for 5 months. I don't know the occupants circumstances or their arrangement with the fort but on the face of it it's not good. Sea pigeon was pretty good tbf

🇦🇺🛥️⛵️🚤Gold Coast Council has just announced a ‘stay limit cap’ on boats in non-pay locations because of too many people taking the piss with anchoring up on the shoreline for months on end and living off the boat. If folks ‘screw the nut’ and bug out after one night, leaving the place cleaner than they arrived then no harm done. Folks not moving on in case they lose their free pitch to someone else is just selfish.

Good one 👍. Typical of councils , no thought just blanket ban on staying overnight. Powys in Wales rather than ban overnight stops have allowed 1night stay with no return to the same car park for 7 nights. Town's traders are fully backing the scheme knowing oddly visitors spend money 😂

I reckon 'use by' dates are overrated . In the early 60's my gran was feeding us corned beef ,. spam, and tinned sausages she'd had stashed since WW2. Her dad had a farm, and he managed to get hold of lorry loads of the stuff in barter for 'butchered livestock that never existed' , mainly US sourced canned goods. Still here. Little bit of excess wind never hurt anyone ( too much) as long as the follow through was under control . Sounds like you broke that lad's heart. What with your rejecting his advances and generic sauce. Shame about sites getting shut down, especially if it stems from some people being twats about abusing it. Can't see 'Right to Roam ' getting far as long as folk have to put up with squatters just moving in and taking the p#ss .
