2 of those are palm sized blu gill they are big, dont yank the hook out unless your keeping them for pan, cut line as close to hook as lossible throw them back in, palm sized blue gill are keepers, only throw live fish back in, get a red hook degauger to remove hooks are a pair of needle nose pliers so you dont kill the fish good luck!
@xplorewithalex97527 күн бұрын
yes, I do have one of those hook degauger pliers to remove hooks. I make sure not to kill the fish when taking hook off and throwing them back. But yeah, most of the time, are keepers 😏

Hi Alex...I just subscribed to your channel. I found your videos to be very informative and detailed. Last December ('2023), I lost my gf to Sepsis, and one of our dreams were to go camping. Ever since last year, I gave up the desire to go camping. But, your videos gave me some inspiration, and I am looking to travel again. I've never been camping, although I have alot of camping gear. Thank you so much for your video content. And if you're ever in the San Diego area, please reach out to me. I would love to take you out for dinner. Safe travels

Your 4th fish is Bluegill, they have vertical bands, a black circular protrusion on the top of the gill plate and blue on the lower part of the gill plate... you can see the blue best when you are holding it in your hand at 14:24
@xplorewithalex9752Ай бұрын
Was wondering what it was..Thanks😁
@chknlyps2373Ай бұрын
@xplorewithalex9752 You are welcome Alex, all those fish you caught were in the sunfish family and alot of people call all of them bluegill. Central to south eastern states call them brim.
@xplorewithalex9752Ай бұрын
That's awesome...even though they were small I had fun. 😁
@chknlyps2373Ай бұрын
@xplorewithalex9752 They are a blast, especially if you catch them on lighter fishing gear. There are times at Lake Hemet I will catch 15 or 20 that size or a little bigger on super light gear and it is a blast. If you get 4 or 5 that size and a little bigger they fry up to make a good meal
@xplorewithalex9752Ай бұрын
Really, ok, next time I'll try them.🤔😁

Good video Alex! Another place u help put on our list to visit, thank u. We caught some bluegills at Lake Elsinore a few weeks ago. Believe it or not, the ones u caught look even bigger than the ones we had caught, lol. If u want to see the sizes we caught, we have a video of it on our channel, tandy adventures. Love your videos, always so informative!
