Before you leave a comment criticizing me for showing the difficult and vulnerable side of my life as a nomad, think to yourself if you are also someone who criticizes content creators for being “fake” and “glamorized”. It is because of criticism LIKE YOURS that creators DO NOT SHOW the challenging moments of their journeys. It is not that they do not have difficult moments because, as humans, we all do. But when people want to leave nasty and insulting comments for the expression of real human emotion, why would anyone want to continue to share that? And so, we end up with easy, breezy, “life on the road is a day in the park” kind of content. Where creators pretend they always do everything right and they’re immune to the effects of challenging moments. And then you call them fake.

Christine, I can’t believe you managed to film through that for as long as you did!! I just feel the need to share that I had a wind experience, not nearly as intense as yours damage-wise, and the emotions that it brought out were wild. It unlocked every frustration and fear and vulnerability that I was bottling and brought them right to the surface. It made me realize there is something about intense wind that’s challenging in a way nothing else is. You are not silly for having this reaction!!! All I see is an incredibly resilient and brave human, with some raw feelings that needed to come out. Sending you a big hug and lots of love. 💞 P.S. You came through it like a champ, and thanks for sharing that moment, and your awesome camp kitchen with us. Can’t wait for your next video, you inspire me!

You are amazing. At 60, I decided to get a tiny taste of van life - having watched women like you take this on. In October last year, I spent 3 weeks in Arizona and Utah, and I drove through Factory Bute and stayed just outside Goblin NP one night. (in a small rented campervan from Lost Campers). I was directed to that area by someone I met at Arches NP - it had not initially been on my radar. I free camped high on a bute and the wind up there, which also arrived suddenly, was unbelievable. The van was buffeted around all night. The sunrise, like yours, was worth it. I loved your beautiful images of that area - captured at one stage when all your stuff was being blown away. Ive said it before, your videography is gaining ground. Im inspired. Being out there alone and needing to contend with these moments IS scary! If you are not a local it can be hard to know how the weather is going to show up. What an incredibly resilient woman you are. I met a 32 year old woman outside that garden in Hanksville with all the quotes (you captured it briefly). She had been living in her Honda Civic for 3 years, and has a story a little similar to yours. It is humbling to meet people like the two of you who are taking on this life. I was thinking of her as I watched you. This life is not easy. You appreciate the little stuff SO much. Running water (I had this in my little camper van) DOES make life so much easier. I resonated with everything you were facing - it's SO courageous!!! Thank you for documenting this, and for being vulnerable with us. 💛🙏🌿 love from Adelaide, Australia.

Sweetie, its best NOT to drive in a dust storm. It can damage the paint on your car, plug your filters significantly and there are spores in the dust where you can contract Valley Fever in your lungs. I wish people could understand these dangers rather than gawk at the beauty. I am a full timer AND I have Valley Fever i contracted in AZ. I pull over in super high winds and mask up in the desert. Its noooooo joke. Constantly check the weather in your area, and Always put away your gear even if "potential high winds". Pay attention ...
