We found the limits of our equipment on this wild camp. Definitely time to buy some more cold weather gear!

That looked to be a nice overnighter , almost. I absolutely love wild camping in winter, especially since I bought the essential cold weather kit. Thanks for the video ⛺🙂👍

After seeing the two of you are gutsy enough to camp in those freezing conditions this American is compelled to subscribe. Beautiful country, beautiful camping partner (her, not you mate) and very nicely put together video. Looking forward to more of your adventures. Stay safe.🇺🇸

Love the scenery can never get enough, moreso when you're in another country. "England's green and pleasant lands" Recommend you pick a hold up point among the ridge edge or in one of the saddles that would've provided less exposure to the wind and more shelter. Park warden question made me laugh! It's winter, FFS, people can die if there's no heat. Likelihood of a fire almost zero given everything is saturated....

Nice little tarp you have there. Whats the model? I was looking for something similar.
@Wildcamp-lifestyle
@Wildcamp-lifestyle 3 ай бұрын
It’s the ‘Vontox’ tarp on Amazon. A good tarp but the one we bought is a little on the large side. I think the medium sided one would be better for wild camping.

Invest in the kit, I've slept up there in the snow, no log burner needed..

Agree. Camped on top of Great End in -5c and wind chill of -12c and didn’t need a log burner. If you wild camp in winter, make sure all your kit is 4 season. And it’s not advisable to set off at the beginning wearing what looks like every layer you’ve brought with you. Hike in the bear minimum, a base layer and good shell jacket, and keep all your warm dry clothes for when you’ve set your tent up. Makes for a more comfortable and enjoyable experience

Camped there a few times, it's always busy.. I managed Bamford edge the other month without getting kicked off. I perfer the small channels to the bigger ones. Just started my new channel off has my other one got hacked 😢 anyway just subbed you keep up the good work 👏

Yeah, Bamford edge was way quieter then Stannage. We’re hoping to do another wild camp next weekend. Can’t decide between Lakes or Peak District again.

If a park ranger asked me anything I would not comment as I have not committed any offences and I do not go out in the wild for some stranger to annoy me as that why im there to get away from people like him
@tonypaddler
@tonypaddler Ай бұрын
Absolutely this @darkshaman ! I've long since learned that if park rangers go out of their way to approach you it's usually so that they can lay down some kind of 'rule', or they assume that you're going to do something and tell you that you can't do it! It's not like I'm a chavvy looking young lad, I'm not even young. Do they assume that they're the only people that love the outdoors 🤔 I know some of them are pleasant enough without an attitude but, and it's not my normal nature, through many annoying experiences with them I simply now just ignore them. Peak District and Lake District ones have proven to be the most nazi-like in nature.

Looks like it freaked you both out a little, important to know what your gear is capable of and have gear which exceeds the conditions you're entering into, but if you going to find out your gear isn't quite up to scratch it's best doing it a short walk from the car anyway, consequences can be a lot scarier on a proper mountain wild camp.
