Camping Gone Wrong | Disappointing Site & Broken Viking 9.0 Camper

We were so excited to get out for our first camping trip of 2024. We headed out with friends to check out a spot we've been wanting to camp at for a while. Well, that's when it went wrong. We got to the trail and did some exploring and heard a crash from the trailer.
The Viking 9.0 TDV had been rumoured to have issues with breaking leaf springs and we can confirm they are true! We managed a trail fix since we were so close to our destination. We slowly made our way there, just to see the spot was taken.
The vehicles didn't seem to be camping, so we thought we might be able to snag it later and set up near by to wait. After they left we moved, just to find out the site was muddy and torn up. We ended up just staying at our waiting spot and had an epic sunset.

We couldn’t agree more. It wasn’t what we planned to start, but it was perfect for us. Lots of level area for the dogs and us.

I just watched Catherine Gregory's latest video before I watched your video and she had the same thing happen to her right side leaf spring, broke in almost the same location that yours broke. Under sized springs. She ended up jury rigging the spring just like you had to before she had it fixed. RV life is an adventure, sometime good, sometimes not.

Isn’t that the truth? It comes as a package deal. We were just glad we weren’t in an out of province road trip or anything. (Since this happened, we definitely purchased roadside assistance, just in case.)

We drove out to Windsor and had XL Truck and Equipment supply and install them for us.
