THE BEST bug repellant natural spray is vinegar of the 4 thieves. I make it every year 1 month before the spring. Takes 1 month to steep. Been making it for years and my whole family loves it.

For your dressing recipe, try adding a little mustard as a binder of the oil and vinegar. It adds a tangy flavor!!!

Good tips. For camping, I’d put the salads in zip lock bags with a snack size bag of dressing inside. Mason jars are heavy and non-collapsible. For camping it’s great to have containers that “disappear” when you’re done leaving you more space

I suggest removing the cardboard core in bathrm tissue and pull the tissue from the center. Can also be done with paper towels so the core doesn't soak up the body wash

the little containers from applesauce fit into the top of the mason jar without falling in. You can put one in, put some dressing in, then put the lid on as usual. no need to buy separate containers. May need the wide mouth jars, i forget, but I have the set up downstairs, just never did it! lol

I’m thinking they would be really heavy for camping, and also, what if one breaks? Has that ever happened, or do you find them to be sturdy enough to withstand a campsite?

Did you check out Zion while you were there? It's on my bucket list- it's soooo unbelievably beautiful. And that healthy Cup of Noodles thing was GENIUS! So using this trick on my next camping trip! How well did the bug repellent bars work? Just wondering if it's worth investing in the citronella oil and other ingredients to make em.
