Hi Kenny and Mandi (and Toby and Tillie 🐾)! I hope the recovery is going well! I’m sure you’ve started PT by now…I remember the agony of those early days, so just thought I’d send some encouragement! It gets better every day! I remember asking my (fabulous) surgeon at a follow up when I could expect to be pain free. He said at the one year mark. He was spot on…I woke up right around that one year point and said, “Wow! My shoulder doesn’t hurt AT ALL!!!” I’m 6 years out and my shoulder is 110% solid!! I powerlift, I row, I wrangle Pit Bulls (😂)…all pain free and with full mobility. Hang in there!!! Now…one other thing!! Have you thought about adding a “member” feature to your channel? It looks like this is maybe something KZbin offers to content creators? I’m guessing the channel owner can set the level(s) and amount. I just saw one channel that offers memberships for $5.99/month. You could offer “perks” to members (the channel I saw offered “priority response” to comments) as you choose. Just a thought…but maybe something easy to add to the channel. You seem to have a bedrock group of followers who would probably be more than happy to join in!

As someone who is now pushing 67, I am just starting on my adventures. Kenny may I suggest that you get an electric recliner lift chair. Shoulder surgery is tuff especially when trying to sleep in a bed. My wife talked me into getting one and believe me that saved my life. I had a manual recliner with the side handle and I quickly realized that it wouldn't do. Make sure it is a lift chair, trying to get out of the chair is tough when you have a bad wing. Best of luck! You will appreciate the surgery afterwards, sometime afterward but it will be worth it. Oh enjoy the Pt, IT's GREAT! 😵‍💫

Yeah I had shoulder surgery too. That recovery is brutal especially trying to get up to go to the bathroom. The ice machine and pain meds help.

I had rotator cuff surgery 30 years ago when they did it with an open wound and power tools. It was a rough recovery. Your surgery sounds more extensive but technology has advanced immensely. The recent shoulder surgery victims I've met have recovered more rapidly than I did. I worked a public utility job for 27 years and I recommend making it to your target retirement minimum which for me was 55 years old, it makes me more comfortable in retirement that I didn't leave much on the table.

I work away from home and I’m in a lot of hotels… I laughed out loud when you commented on drinking coffee before bed.😂😂 I usually make a cup of coffee at night before pulling up your new videos… Great “pivot” with making the stew instead of roasting the chuck roast over the fire. That’s what life is all about right? Being able to make different decisions when opportunities arise. I wish you all the best with your surgery and looking forward to more videos when you are able. Yes, a question and answer session is a great idea. Also, the merchandise idea would be a great way to move towards full time KZbinr. Some KZbinrs promote different products to help them out although that’s tricky because some of those videos can turn into a commercial instead of the content you want to convey to the people watching. Although reaching out to the manufacturers of products you already use and doing a little “shout out” is less “in your face” advertising. Also, you might be able to have those manufacturers comp you different things to help out (generator company, camper company, truck company, cooking knives company, etc.). Adventures outside of Minnesota (even though I’m partial to Minnesota since I grew up in Duluth) would really widen your fan base. Madeline island ice cave adventures, Fall Bayfield, WI Apple Festival, snowmobiling in Michigan, or summer camping close to the Mackinac Island bridge just to name a few…

I love the lingering footage of the winter campfire snap, crackling and burning...so peaceful and warm. I could leave that on my TV all day as I putz in my home. Hint, hint. I'm so happy Toby is feeling better so fun to see him running joyfully in the woods. May your surgery go well, and may you give yourself the time to heal properly that you may be able to get back to doing the things you love in a timely manner. I love the idea of developing merchandise for your channel and maybe that is something to ponder as you recover. Be Kind, Be Honest needs to absolutely be included on coffee mugs, sweatshirts, t-shirts, hats, bumper stickers, and please have plus sizes available to 5x-6x. I concur with the recipe book idea.
