New vid every Thursday! I'm taking a break from winter with beautiful wife, we drove out to Vancouver Island and decided to do some camping in a nice climate. We used the Gazelle screen gazebo that most people use for picnics in the back yard. The downside is there is no floor on the tent, but in this are there are no snakes or other serious threats.
We're going to be out on the island for about 2 weeks, and I hope to get a few extra videos filmed out here. Hunker down everyone and we will see you next Thursday with an extreme storm camping video! Cheers!

My parents hate camping and never took me as a kid. I honestly have no idea how to go camping. The truth is I don't need bush craft videos, I need a very basic how-to, so I appreciate that you cover the normal stuff that most assume everyone already knows. It's useful information for some of us.

I’m blessed in that my parents always took us places on the weekends, camping in the Summer time in beautiful places here in the South-Eastern USA. I’ve got so many wonderful memories growing up. Many a weekend we just went fishing or a simple picnic in the mountains.

What I love most about this channel is how you show all of us that spending time outdoors is accessible for pretty much everyone. You don’t need to break the bank at REI to spend some time outside. This really is one of the best channels on KZbin. Also I’m piling onto the comments about creating a camping specific recipe book. I would absolutely buy this. Cheers from Texas!

Sand bags work pretty well for holding down a tent or canopy when you can't stake it down. They're cheap, tough, lightweight, and you can fill them right where you use them then dump them out when your ready to pack up. Good travels to you.

Deadman anchors work pretty well if the soil or sand is loose enough to dig. Make a cross of two sticks a couple of feet long and about an inch or more in diameter and tie a cord around the place where they cross. Bury them about a foot deep and run the cord up to your tent like a guy rope. They work in deep snow too.

I have this exact same Gazelle that I have been using to camp in for years. I haven't bought or made sides for it yet. I just hang cotton canvas, basically, painters drop cloths, for privacy. The only thing I find is pretty much needed and doesn't come with that gazebo is a center pole to keep the ceiling from popping down on you in wind or under snow load. I use a center support on mine, especially during snow. You guys use the exact same setup that my wife and I do.

All the awful double-up ads they say are customized yet, you are screaming that you've seen the same Charlatan scam Ads for the 15th time, but you told them mutiple times you don't. That's what YT has become. Trash

The ambiance in the woods and on the shore sums up our British winter here on the SE Coast in Hastings. Dull, damp and mild. A few frosty mornings, but really a total failure for cold lovers such as I. A fabulous video yet again and the non bullshite,, non commercial outlook you have is so refreshing. Plus you are a very humerous bloke. Cheers and well done.

I'm bed ridden with a broken ankle and a buddy just showed me this channel the other day. I can't explain why, but these are like the most relaxing videos and this dude is chill AF.

The beans falling out of the can had me laughing. “That looks appetizing” 😂 On another note. You should take the ad money Steve. I would still watch and everyone else would too. Been watching you since your trade school winter camping series. Your videos are the best on KZbin. Wholesome and relaxing.

Love the way Steve pronounces "garage" something like gradge and Iron like eye run. Like the simplicity of his way of camping. Nothing fancy. Great ideas and advice.

Hey Steve, to anchor your tent/gazebo in sand, tie cordage to you’re tent peg anchor points with about 24”-30” of rope and tie that off to a good sized stick, then tension the rope and bury it in the sand at least 8” deep. Works for snow as well just bury it deeper.
